Make Your Escape — Attraction in Great Britain

This was by far the best escape room experience we have ever had!

We decided to go for an escape room as my sister had visited me in Derby for the week. We've only done a couple previously so we were very inexperienced! We decided to visit The Signal room and this place completely exceeded our expectations.

First of all, the staff are so lovely and kind and I've never been more comfortable or satisfied with the level of customer service from anywhere, ever. From booking over the phone last minute, to our game supervisor being so kind and enthusiastic- I've never met more pleasant and genuinely enthusiastic people from a business.

We arrived at the building and was greeted by our game supervisor - Harry , who introduced himself and showed us where to go. He was very enthusiastic , kind and made us feel really comfortable and explained everything thoroughly. He was very helpful with hints and at the end of the game even took the time to explain extra parts of the game that could have happened if we had made different decisions (won't spoil anything!) He also took time to chat to us and was extremely lovely.

The game itself was very well set up. The feel of the room was so good with some great decorations and some really interesting puzzles which really had us thinking. Absolutely loved the storyline and felt it was incredibly engaging. The whole room was exceptionally good and made us want to come back for more straight after we left. We managed to escape the room with only 5 minutes to spare - but even if we hadn't escaped we would have still had the same positive feeling coming out after taking part.

Everything about this experience has been the highlight of our trip to Derby, from the staff to the actual game and the general feel of this place. It was all so perfect.

We've enjoyed our experience today so much that we've all decided to already book another room tomorrow to go to later this week with them.

We recently played Dystopia at MakeYourEscape and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Joey, our game master, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He clearly explained all the safety procedures and gave us a helpful rundown of the special locks we might encounter, which really helped us feel prepared.

Joey also guided us through the story with great enthusiasm, setting the tone perfectly. He respected our chosen hint level and provided hints only when we were really stuck or doing something completely wrong. Each one was subtle enough to keep the challenge alive while nudging us in the right direction. It made the puzzles feel rewarding to solve.

The whole team thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we’re already looking forward to booking another room. One small downside was the temperature in the room—it got quite warm during the game, and although there were aircon units around, they didn’t seem to make much difference once we were immersed in the story and racing against the clock.

When I was trying to make a booking the website glitched so I pressed the back button and it took me back I decided to make a booking somewhere else as the website was super slow. I got one call the next day and I missed it but called them back within a few minutes…no answer. They took the money from my account and when I emailed explaining what had happened they weren’t understanding at all. I asked for my money back since I didn’t see a reason to check it had left my account as the website took me back to the previous page and did look for the confirmation email as again the website took me back and didn’t confirm anything. They offered me 50% off a future game but by this point I had an understanding that the staff were unhelpful so I explained I wouldn’t be booking there again so I’d be happy with a 50% refund. To this I never got an email back and have been completely ignored.
