To anyone going to Mallaig please avoid the Heritage Centre. We took the steam train to Mallaig and the town was wonderful and quaint. On the way back to the train we had an hour to kill and noticed the Heritage Centre. The woman behind the counter was the rudest person I have ever met. We decided to use the restroom before entering the centre, upon exiting the woman behind the counter informed me I had to make a donation for using the public rest room. The manner in which she spoke was incredible rude. I am not a rude person myself so just acknowledged her and we left once my wife had browsed the gift shop.
