July 2024, open only for dinner, 6-9 pm. I was glad to be staying at West Highland Hotel, since one of the two nights I dined at its in-house The Terrace Restaurant was open only for hotel guests. I had two good vegan dinners at The Terrace (and there is also a vegan soup with sourdough bread): spicy bean burger and penne Arrabbiata (tomato sauce and black olives). Both were good, served with a colourful salad. The meal arrived promptly, and the young staff are efficient and pleasant. Alcoholic beverages available. Don’t miss the red receptacle for tips. Lovely views towards Skye and the Small Isles. There is outdoor seating as well. Book ahead.

Ok, I apologise if too harsh rating but I was really disappointed with this place. Staff don't know what they are doing. Both girls on the floor clueless about everything - what they sell, serve and simple transactions. Food totally not worth the price. Utterly overpriced for what you get. Of course we had no check back and I didn't make a fuss but fish and chips represented 20% fish and 80% chips. Scampi was breaded and overcooked. Felt like prepacked store bought. Tartar sauce tasted weird. Sorry 😞

Food was decent, we had haggis bonbons for starters then fish, and burger for main. The haggis was very tasty and the fish fresh and crispy however the burger wasn't anything impressive and the chips dry and over cooked. Our biggest compliment was the price, £64 for lunch at a restaurant isn't something we would expect to pay especially when the service wasn't amazing and it lacked atmosphere.

After ordering langoustine as a side dish We soon found difficulty in peeling them the flesh was falling into very small pieces of watery mush and It was total impossible to de-vein them I told serving staff 3 times that we were not happy with them No response ! The langoustine got left on table whilst I had dessert ...I mentioned I was not happy to pay for a dish of food we were unable to consume at cash out The manager was called she was so unprofessional she talked down to us. She put a young frightened looking member of staff on the main entrance door ? I was in no way loud or obtrusive, I'm disabled and have trouble walking ! She could she that too She arrived back with a langoustine in hand Ate it in three sections vein and all telling us how to eat them like we never have eaten them. I explained I understand how to eat them by gentle teasing flesh from peel , we have four attempts no joy and I like to DEVIEN before eating The manager disagreed with me and finally offer half price She was so unprepared to listen to us and rude I was 10 yrs old when my grandfather gave me my first Lesson in peeling , in my 60s I'm well aware of how I would not...

Real let down. Was told it was a SLIGHT wait for food when being seated, ordered food and drinks after 15 mins waiting seated and then waited an hour for the starter. Main course took over an hour and a half to arrive by which time it was so late I had to ask for it to be bagged up by server. Manager then came over with bill and didn't wait for me to look over bill before reaching for my card, without even acknowledging the service. We weren't the only ones waiting either, a whole restaurant of annoyed patrons. The starters did taste amazing so the chef didn't compromise on taste, but the wait and service made the meal completely...
