National Trust - Mompesson House — Attraction in Great Britain

My friend visited me in Salisbury, and I found out that they have a Christmas event in Mompesson house. I've never been there so it seemed to be a good occasion to visit it. All the rooms were decorated with handmade Christmas decoration imitating the Victorian era and based on different fairy tales, like Cinderella, The Snow Queen, etc. They looked all magical with all the matching details. We really felt like we were part of a traditional family Christmas. They also had a game for kids where you had to find something in every room. I have to admit that we did it with my friend and enjoyed it😄 at the end we went to their second-hand bookshop and bought a surprise book for £2. What a beautiful elegant house! We had a wonderful visit - the Volunteers were very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. Had a very informative introduction talk (15 mins) by one of the Volunteers which gave an excellent introduction to the house, it's history, owners and architecture - highly recommended. Stunning collection of Porcelain and antique glasses. Not a huge house but the seven rooms were beautifully furnished and decorated. The house is in an ideal location overlooking the Cathedral and has a pretty, quiet walled garden with cafe (sadly didn't have time to visit!) and a well stocked second hand bookshop. A lovely little NT property right in the middle of Salisbury. There's not a whole lot to see and there's not loads of history to learn about as there's been a lot of people who've lived there (it was always a leasehold property owned by the cathedral until the 50s) but it's very pretty, with views from the windows and the garden over the cathedral and its spire. The staff were all very nice and happy to have a chat about the place. I liked the wonky door on the first floor, to the left at the top of the stairs - I really couldn't tell if the floor, frame or door was wonky. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else but it's worth looking for as I only just happened to notice...
