There was a bit of confusion collecting our tickets which had been booked online. Because the staff had already printed out the tickets (unbeknown to us), the machine didn't recognise the card the tickets were paid for by. However, we put this down to teething problems as it is all new. We bought a cup of tea each (they had run out of teapots!) and took it in to the cinema with us. There is a little shelf inbetween the plush, really comfy leather seats. We took our own rolls with us. (non-noisy food). The cinema/theatre was just the right temperature. The only problem we had was that as we were sitting at the back near the door, at quiet moments in the film, we could hear people laughing and talking in the cafe area which is only just outside the door. I think that there needs to be a separate area to buy the tickets, as they had to be collected from the same counter that you buy the refreshments from. To sum up, I have given 5 stars as I think the problems were due to it all being a bit new but it was all very intimate with no rustling of food wrappers or whispering (apart from outside the door) and I would definitely recommend it...
Read moreExcellent as always, Northampton Filmhouse is our favourite film venue, which is why we remain as members and keep an eye on the mailing list emails.
Comfortable seats, nice drinks and snacks, pleasant and helpful young staff on duty. Toilets are easy to get to in the main theatre building.
Parking at St Johns multi-storey car park is great but....if there's something popular at The Derngate it fills up and alternative provision isn't so handy by the time you've found St Johns really is full.
We've winged it before at Morrisons Car Park but this film was long enough to take us over the time limit there and it cost us £60. So, a word of warning! Check what's on when you book and come early!
Apart from that, which isn't their issue, Northampton Filmhouse is brilliant!! Thanks to...
Read moreThe comfortable seats that recline, the ample leg space, the lovely staff who are always so helpful (they couldn't have been kinder when I had a coughing fit and had to come out from the film) and the fact that not only can I take a drink in with me (wine or hot/cold soft drink - their selection is excellent) but that they provide a small table to rest it on, all makes watching a film the most enjoyable experience. I also love being able to watch not only the newest films out but no end of my favourites from years ago - a real treat to see them on the big screen again. Thank you Errol Flynn Cinema for getting...
