Giggle and grow and frozen 18th July. I am unhappy at how these events were handled. I have been to many other events at the arena, including bookbug the week before thid and never had my bag searched, let alone for food. At the event yesterday I was informed upon entry that I was not allowed to bring food or drink into the arena, which has never been the case before.
I would be less annoyed about this if it was made clear beforehand but for the following reasons this was an unacceptable rule; The only snacks and food available was pizza, popcorn, cake or crisps. No fruit was available, popcorn is not recommended for children under 5, crisps are not suitable for young children and there was nothing on sale they could have. Dietary requirements were also not catered for. Water was available in cups, for children to spill all over themselves? People bring drinks and snacks to an event for children for a reason. If you have any experience in running childrens events you would know that children eat a lot of snacks, have allergies and dietary requirements and cannot eat certain foods because they are a choking hazard. From what was on sale there was nothing children could or should eat for the duration of their attendance. I was told this is in accordance with the licence conditions for the venue? This has never been expressed as being the case when I have attended previously and I feel it is simply a money...
Read moreMy child went to see Grease with her friends in the open air cinema. They paid for their tickets and got food for the movie all to be kicked out before the movie even started for no good reason. Apparently it was because they were not accompanied by an adult but this wasn't made clear as a rule . They were accompanied in by an adult when they got in but the adult had to leave which they didnt know was not allowed . All their parents were working as it was a normal working day for us (so unable to pick them up till the movie was done). They ended up getting the train which was a big pain. I would be more concerned about my child's safety out in town ,on their own whilst trying to navigate home, than at an organised event that was well supervised. They did not live in the area so it was not a short trip home. It was an awful experience to have especially as their first time in town on their own. I think it was unnecessary to kick out responsible children not making...
Read moreReally great venue - seating (on the stone steps) is really well spaced out. Service is great too when ordering, staff very attentive. Prices really reasonable too. We went to watch a movie and it was all really well organised. Be careful though on sunny days, this is literally all open and outdoor so keep that in mind. Events here are brilliant, and Queens Park is a great place to be. Easy to spend an entire day here. Bring a picnic! There’s loads of parking round the...
