I recently attended Bongos Bingo at SWG3 and found the event itself to be well-organized and highly entertaining. The atmosphere was lively, and the entertainment delivered on its promises.
However, several aspects of the venue’s service were disappointing. The bar situation was particularly problematic. Queuing for drinks was chaotic, resembling a free-for-all rather than an orderly line. This lack of organization not only slowed down service but also led to conflicts among patrons. Bar staff often seemed to disappear to the stock room, perhaps to avoid serving customers, which further exacerbated the slow pace.
Additionally, navigating through the crowded area was challenging, and on several occasions, drinks were spilled on others as people tried to make their way through. A more organized approach at the bar could prevent such issues and enhance the overall customer experience.
Furthermore, the bar staff were quite unfriendly, which detracted from the enjoyment of the evening. The drink prices were excessively high for the quality and selection offered.
There was also a glass return policy in place that allowed patrons to receive money off their next drink, but this was not clearly advertised. At the end of the event, despite having collected cups to return, we were not permitted to redeem them. This lack of communication and transparency was frustrating and felt like a missed opportunity for both customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility.
In summary, while the entertainment at SWG3 is top-notch, significant improvements in customer service, bar organization, and clearer communication about venue policies are needed to enhance the...
Read moreWent to three shows recently at the Galvanizers. One was probably half sold, and because of this was fine since there was lots of space and it was possible to see over people’s heads. The second two were packed way too full (it felt), and we were 2/3 of the way back and unable to see anyone on the stage.
Unfortunately because the venue is so long and skinny it makes it really hard for anyone under 5’7” and not close to the front to see anything at all. I wish there was a grade in the floor so that the people at the back could see, or that the stage was higher. Or that less tickets were sold.
Because it was so full and difficult to see, I find that loads of people in the crowd just talk to each other because they can’t engage with the performance. You can often hear people talking all the way through the songs because it can get a little boring when you can’t see anything.
The venue is nice enough and would be good for dj sets where you just dance don’t necessarily need to see up to the stage.
The line for the bar was also crazy, crazy long on the past two occasions. Our friends were in the line for about 30 minutes. Next time I go I will just avoid buying a drink. I know there is a bar upstairs, it would be great if it was used more often in order to split the crowd up a bit.
TL;DR if you really want to see the act I’d recommend going as early as possible so you can get close enough to the stage to see, buying yourself two doubles at the beginning so you’re set for the whole gig, and...
Read moreHaving been to 2 gigs here, one inside, one outside, I can say that the outdoor concert was "better". But only in the same way that getting punched in the face is marginally better than getting kicked in the face (depending on the shoe size of your attacker). Indoors is..... Well it's not good. Unmanageable bar Q's, restricted views, temperature that swings wildly from freezing to dangerously hot. I could moan about the price of a pint (£5) but its about the norm now so I won't bother. The layouts just terrible. As for the outdoor space, it shall now be known unaffectionately by me and my friends as the "prison exercise yard". It's a decent enough space but God is it ugly. Especially considering the beautiful kelvingrove Park is not far away. Another problem is the staff having to argue with people being told they can't go back the way they came and must go all the way out to the front of the venue and fight there way back to there friends. I get that it's supposed to funnel people away from the front of the main stage but it's unnecessary and doesn't take into account that when people go to concerts they tend to go with..... Y'know, OTHER people. There's nothing worse for staff than having to defend stupid decisions that are being made at a managerial level and it shows. The staff where getting seriously ratty by the end of the night. It's a deal breaker of a place for me so I'll be picking my gigs wisely if they're here in the future. I work in an ugly factory, I don't wanna see my...
