I recently attended Bongos Bingo at SWG3 and found the event itself to be well-organized and highly entertaining. The atmosphere was lively, and the entertainment delivered on its promises.

However, several aspects of the venue’s service were disappointing. The bar situation was particularly problematic. Queuing for drinks was chaotic, resembling a free-for-all rather than an orderly line. This lack of organization not only slowed down service but also led to conflicts among patrons. Bar staff often seemed to disappear to the stock room, perhaps to avoid serving customers, which further exacerbated the slow pace.

Additionally, navigating through the crowded area was challenging, and on several occasions, drinks were spilled on others as people tried to make their way through. A more organized approach at the bar could prevent such issues and enhance the overall customer experience.

Furthermore, the bar staff were quite unfriendly, which detracted from the enjoyment of the evening. The drink prices were excessively high for the quality and selection offered.

There was also a glass return policy in place that allowed patrons to receive money off their next drink, but this was not clearly advertised. At the end of the event, despite having collected cups to return, we were not permitted to redeem them. This lack of communication and transparency was frustrating and felt like a missed opportunity for both customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility.

In summary, while the entertainment at SWG3 is top-notch, significant improvements in customer service, bar organization, and clearer communication about venue policies are needed to enhance the...

Went to three shows recently at the Galvanizers. One was probably half sold, and because of this was fine since there was lots of space and it was possible to see over people’s heads. The second two were packed way too full (it felt), and we were 2/3 of the way back and unable to see anyone on the stage.

Unfortunately because the venue is so long and skinny it makes it really hard for anyone under 5’7” and not close to the front to see anything at all. I wish there was a grade in the floor so that the people at the back could see, or that the stage was higher. Or that less tickets were sold.

Because it was so full and difficult to see, I find that loads of people in the crowd just talk to each other because they can’t engage with the performance. You can often hear people talking all the way through the songs because it can get a little boring when you can’t see anything.

The venue is nice enough and would be good for dj sets where you just dance don’t necessarily need to see up to the stage.

The line for the bar was also crazy, crazy long on the past two occasions. Our friends were in the line for about 30 minutes. Next time I go I will just avoid buying a drink. I know there is a bar upstairs, it would be great if it was used more often in order to split the crowd up a bit.

TL;DR if you really want to see the act I’d recommend going as early as possible so you can get close enough to the stage to see, buying yourself two doubles at the beginning so you’re set for the whole gig, and...

Having been to 2 gigs here, one inside, one outside, I can say that the outdoor concert was "better". But only in the same way that getting punched in the face is marginally better than getting kicked in the face (depending on the shoe size of your attacker). Indoors is..... Well it's not good. Unmanageable bar Q's, restricted views, temperature that swings wildly from freezing to dangerously hot. I could moan about the price of a pint (£5) but its about the norm now so I won't bother. The layouts just terrible. As for the outdoor space, it shall now be known unaffectionately by me and my friends as the "prison exercise yard". It's a decent enough space but God is it ugly. Especially considering the beautiful kelvingrove Park is not far away. Another problem is the staff having to argue with people being told they can't go back the way they came and must go all the way out to the front of the venue and fight there way back to there friends. I get that it's supposed to funnel people away from the front of the main stage but it's unnecessary and doesn't take into account that when people go to concerts they tend to go with..... Y'know, OTHER people. There's nothing worse for staff than having to defend stupid decisions that are being made at a managerial level and it shows. The staff where getting seriously ratty by the end of the night. It's a deal breaker of a place for me so I'll be picking my gigs wisely if they're here in the future. I work in an ugly factory, I don't wanna see my...

Edit; Returned feb 2025 to see Life of Agony and Biohazard. Apart from the lack of eateries in the Vicinity the venue itself still impressed. Clean and roomy toilet facilities, pleasant door staff and this time the stage was set in the area with the bar. This setup meant you had the bar at the rear and space for around 1000 (I guess) all standing and a narrow raised area on the left hand wall for accessible ticketed folks to sit or bring a wheelchair. The 4 large concrete pillars in the room made for some interesting circle pits but were not overly wide My 1st time here and it is bigger than expected. Not much in the way of parking at the venue but plenty on the nearby streets. It is a good 0 minute walk back to the streets with take aways, restaurants and bars but it isn't horrible. The venue itself is nice and open inside, with easily accessible toilets that are done in a good quality industrial style, plenty of them too. There is a large bar area that is separate from the main hall unlike the Barrowlands and the Academy. Next to that is the merch/meet and greet area which is also spacious and has decent display tables. Inside the main hall is a large oblong room with A slightly raised area set up near the back for wheelchair users. I thought the sound was very good for all 3 bands once they got into it. This event was set up for standing only. Overall, I would go back and now I know where to park and eat I wouldn't hesitate to bring friends

This venue is so poor that I almost didn't go to see my favourite band! There are so many issues for this venue and very few positives. Gigs here are usually far too overcrowded- please dont oversell tickets!!! Its far to difficult to move around when the gig is too full, and I have even witnessed people standing outside of the TV studio trying to peer through the door as there is so little space. Location isn't the most convenient- very little in the area and its quite a treck from the main roads/ other pubs that you can actually get a drink from. Gigs in the TV studio also mean that the bar area is FULL of people and at one gig I couldn't even see the act. Would have been better sitting at home watching a prerecorded gig. The bar service, while the people are lovely, is far too slow. Might I suggest prepouring pints like at some other gig venues. The Heverlee beer is probably the nicest in my opinion, but the pipes always seem to create issues and it takes an age for the staff to pour a pint. I once had a 50 minute wait in the queue at the bar. The other option is to go when the event is on... and miss some of the event which isnt ideal. The best part about this venue is the toilet attendant- she is lovely. I have tried a few times to enjoy a gig here, but I'm unlikely to return, and I would also urge promoters not to book bands here.

I attended the G Flip concert held here. The event was a good size, the bars location is ideal. You come through a foyer/corridor to the bar, just to the left of the entrance to the bar is the entrance to the venue, and to the opposite end are the toilets. The bar area is well lit, the service is great and well handled by the staff, who were all friendly and patient. The security were brilliant, really friendly and very attentive to ensuring all patron's safe return home, they came up at the end of the night all the way right up the street away from the venue and asked everyone still there if they were sorted for getting home (a really amazing touch from the security there, don't think I've ever seen that anywhere else). They were even efficient with ensuring a good flow at the entrance. They were nice and let us back in to use the facilities before taking the long trip back home. Can't speak more highly of the security here if I tried, a great team. While inside the event it had plenty of space to host the sold out crowd. There was a great atmosphere. The show was fantastic, a good sized performance area and good view to the stage. There was some seating area inside the venue for those who needed it during the show. The music wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear the artist sing over the band playing. All round a great experience here.
