Like craft beer? Prefer it on draught? Well now you can now have it all! This is Glasgow's original and first Growler bar and it really is a mecca for the craft beer lover!
On first visit you buy a Growler Jug (which is yours to keep) and get it filled up with the beer of your choice, straight and fresh from the tap. There are often 5-6 draught beers to choose from and getting a sample is no trouble at all. There is also a myriad of weird and wonderful bottles / cans from all over the planet in the fridges. If you need anything explained, the incredibly knowledgeable and friendly owner will be more than happy to help.
Recently Grunts has been able to serve beer in the shop for a small corkage fee. It's a great place to enjoy a beer, the vibe is cool, the music is rockin' and the chat always good! Definitely one of the best beer...

Jehad is super chill and friendly; a genuinely nice guy who is incredibly passionate about beer and it really shines through.

After a few delicious rounds, I was hesitant at first but decided to go with Jehad's and the bartender's recommendation to give the marshmallow porter a go; definitely worth it - those gents know their beer!

Read moreA somewhat hidden gem. I qualify that by the fact it's a street away from the main drag, but it's pleasingly busy and populated by folk who seek it out (I travelled 40 miles and heard loads of American voices) but it's not in-your-face busy. I sat alone for a period of time but felt welcomed by the owner (never caught his name) who chatted when it was appropriate. He's an American gent (underline gent) with a great personality and could chat on any subject. I got the vibe that if you wanted left alone, he'd abide. A lovely host and a good judge of people.
That aside, the choice of fridge beer was right up my street (loads of quality imperial stouts) and a good choice of general draught, although mostly lighter beers as they're seasonal.
A cracking wee pub worth...
