Oh my word. What food? We had a mixed meat dish, lamb and pork. The pub added cauliflower with cheese and the whole lot was out of this world. The veg of which there was loads was outstanding. The meat so succulent. We ate in the garden which has a large number of planters and hanging baskets. Myself and two other guests downloaded apps to see what the plants were. The best Sunday lunch we have had in years in a very nice and quiet garden

Warm, cosy, somewhat expensive but where isn't these days? Wonderful local art for sale on the walls, classic public house building next to the town's river with a substantial garden for those nice days we have. Friendly staff, consistent beers and a reasonably normal clientèle make for a lovely pint.

Popped in here for a meal and a couple of pints after having a fantastic day visiting Bletchley Park and Stowe County Park, we couldn't of wished to have dropped on a better pub, staff were very friendly and welcoming and our meals were beautiful. Highly recommended. 👍

If I could give this zero stars I would Held my child's first birthday party in the Cote function room yesterday. What a complete disappointment from start to finish. Organisation was tricky to start with from booking to finalizing details. Management incredibly difficult to get hold of. No where to move extra chairs or tables out of the venue so it was tight for space. We paid for the bar to be open in there but multiple times had to ask the barman to come back inside from vaping. The barman was heard swearing also and just genuinely looked very unhappy to be at work. The chef swore at some of the older children attending the party from in the kitchen. Paid for the kids buffet and adults buffet. What a complete shambles, half the kids buffet items were missing, and for the adults buffet it barely fed the amount of people we asked for it too. The taste and quality of some of the items as well was questionable. All in all, I would not recommend hiring this function room if you are looking for somewhere nice to hold a function. You cannot take your own food so you are very tied to having their disgusting, overpriced and half the buffet missing. Staff do not want to help you and are not welcoming or accommodating. Felt that we were actually just an inconvenience Also written a email complaint to the management which no doubt will not be...

Tonight our underage son had to join us for 15 minutes in the pub because he missed the last bus and was waiting with us for a taxi. I thought I may as well get him a coke while we wait, but the landlady said she cannot serve him because he's underage. I accepted this and instead only got my husband a pint of Doombar. As soon as I returned to our table she confronted me saying my son has to leave the pub because he's underage and claimed she told me so before at the bar, and she won't loose her license for me. I insisted she had only said she cannot serve him which led to her shouting at me, and asking everyone in the pub if she had not clearly told me already before. I then told her not to get agitated but that didn't help so I just left (with my son of course). I can only say that this is no way to talk to PAYING customers (I work in hospitality myself btw). Maybe that explains the rather empty pub. One redeeming feature though is the other bar staff on shift that night before the landlady incident which was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately there will be no business from us for the...

A lovely little pub in a lovely little village. The food was nice, the staff were friendly, and our dog and little boy were welcome. Decent sized main meals, with small starters, which I suppose is the right way around. No music or entertainment, so the atmosphere is made up of people chatting.

The menu we were given wasn't the menu we found on the Google maps listing or on their website, and was considerably smaller, so I'm not sure if this was a paired down menu for a Saturday evening or if that is the menu now. So no steak, which I was looking forward to.

The main negative if your not local was parking, which was just on street, and it's a very narrow residential street, so is already very full.

Overall...
