A very beautiful little place to visit in between the flowers and greenery. It was nice as well that it had some toilets, which could've been cleaner, but it was usable.
Sadly as I left, I came across "the pride tree", which to me was really disturbing. I don't think such a public place should portray any opinions whatsoever of any kind ; it should only provide a peaceful and resting environment/feeling which I didn't encounter leaving the gardens. So I was disappointed with that.

Read moreBeautiful semi-formal park. Large mature trees and other planting gives it a slightly more relaxed & intimate feel, as many areas feel quite private if the place isn't busy. The large grassy area by the bandstand is open & great for soaking up the sun when the weather is good. Pretty accessible, but note that it is on quite a steep slope so power assist or a certain level of fitness are required for those with mobility issues. Read moreBeautiful gardens with bandstand (currently being renovated). A lovely place to relax. Brass bands play during the summer on Sunday afternoons.
There is also a small cafe that sells ice-cream, hot & cold drinks and cakes. At the moment (May 2024) this is only open 10am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Drink prices start at about £2.25 for tea and go up to about £4 for fully loaded hot chocolate.
