My wife treated me to lunch on Saturday after a particularly challenging week. I was excited to try the Cornish Vegan as I've walked past it for the last 20 years and never once been inside, but recent reviews had piqued my interest. We ordered the poutine to share, 2 Rueben sandwiches and couple of excellent Bloody Marys. The service was great. Attentive and with attention to detail, clearly interested in ensuring the experience was to the customer's tastes. Of course that should be standard but it's less common than you think. The drinks were perfect, seasoned well, and with the option for more heat and salt if desired. And then the food arrived... Oh. Yes. The Poutine (a dish I haven't had in 25 years) was fantastic. It was really tasty, moreish, and filling but with a sprinkling of spring onion and fresh chilli that kept the palate fresh with every bite. (Poutine, while delicious, can become a bit of a slog to finish...happy to report that none of that fatigue set in here) The Rueben sandwiches were show-stopping. A really well conceived array of flavours that bring to mind the classic, meat Rueben but build off that familiarity to create a taste sensation all of it's own. Very, very highly recommended. The restaurant filled up pretty quickly as soon as the doors opened and the atmosphere was warm and lively. To top off a wonderful lunch, the in-house loyalty scheme means we now have yet another reason to return. Top marks!

All the food was amazingly next level! Legitimately the best meal I have ever eaten! Not been a vegan that long but it's honestly better then any other type of non-Vegan food I have ever eaten too and all the foods seem really nice and classic and comfort food based so if as a vegan you miss some of your favourite non-Vegan comfort or classic foods this will be the place for you! The Atmosphere and Decor is very relaxed and calming so if you feel nervous going out to eat it could be a nice place to go out and eat too. Went out with the rest of my family there (all of which eat Meat) two of them were set on Meat and felt like they would not like the food prior to being there given it's all vegan but they both admitted it was amazing and I believe it changed their view on what they feel like Vegan food can be which is amazing! The Waitress, Manager and Chef all came to talk to us and we're incredibly friendly to us all which was very nice and made the Atmosphere even more of a comfortable place to be in and the manager and waitress asked us if everything was ok multiple times during our time there and seemed to genuinely care about us having a great time and went out of their way above and beyond! All in all was an amazing experience cannot recommend it enough! 5 Stars all the way! (Also get the "Mac 'N' Sheese" btw you will not regret it haha also they do a Mini Mac if you'd prefer to just try it out!)

The Cornish Vegan is our absolute favourite restaurant!! One of the very best vegan restaurants in the country, and we’ve been to many! My girlfriend and I go here regularly and for special occasions, because the food is just to die for! Amazing flavours, fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked every time. We love the variety on the menu too! You’re spoilt for choice! Although we have to admit that we go for our favourites too often… we particularly recommend the ‘fish’ and chips, the Canadian poutine, the burger, the hotdog, the onion rings, and the mushroom arancini! All so so delicious!! The vegan fish and chips is the best I’ve ever had and I have it pretty much every time! The atmosphere of the restaurant is always so welcoming too. The decor is lovely, comfy chairs and tables situated ideally for the perfect meal out - whether it be a chilled lunch with friends or a cosy romantic dinner. There’s something on the menu for everyone - vegans and non-vegans alike! They’ve got various gluten-free options and options that can be adapted for children too! Perfect food, brilliant value for money, lovely atmosphere, friendly owners, just amazing all-round. The Cornish Vegan deserves every bit of praise and success. Thank you!! 🖤

Great for vegans, but not allergy sufferers. The chef actually advised AGAINST ordering due to food allergies (specifically nuts in our case) as the kitchen is so small, so we sadly left without ordering 😔

Following the comments from the owner, I also felt it necessary to add that I left this review to inform other potential allergy sufferers of the ‘policy’. Having dealt with food allergies for over a decade now and seen how far things have come along, if we see a vegan place we always prioritise visiting it, and the Cornish vegan looked amazing, it was just so disappointing that they were unable to cater, or even attempt to cater for allergies. I appreciate the kitchen is small, but surely not too small to clean down utensils and surfaces to prepare something safely. I’ll add that there was only us and one other family when we arrived and it took the waitress a good 10 minutes to come to us for us to ask the questions we needed to.

I attempted to keep my original review small, and to the point to inform allergy sufferers not to be disappointed like we were, but received a tsunami of a reply justifying their response and approach (we cant serve you) to allergies.

To be clear I gave 2 stars for the lovely atmosphere and cleanliness of the the dining area, I was unable to star the food as we were unable to order, or the drinks as again, we did not order as we left due to the food, and the service was incredibly slow.

(We did go a few doors down and were catered for amazingly, with no...

My wife and I (plus two children) visited The Cornish Vegan today to celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary. What a spectacular venue! We were met with a beautiful table by the window with a view of the Truro street scene. We were quickly seen by our waitress who was very helpful and assisted in making sure we had everything we needed. The venue is beautiful. As a vegan it was well set out and had a beautiful arrangement of cakes set out. There is also further information about vegetarianism and veganism set out nearby. The food was amazing. Best vegan restaurant I have visited. I had a 'fish' and chips which was the best version I have ever had. My wife had a sandwich called a 'grilled ruben' which was well presented and she tells me was fantastic! The children had 'chicken' and chips which they adapted for my 3 year old who fancied toast instead. No issues at all with the slight menu change! We were kindly prepared a anniversary dessert of 4 taster chocolate brownie which was incredible and hard to believe is vegan (converted in the last 5 years so hard to convince me normally!). We shared a cornish tea as a dessert (we decided to go all out today). Children highly rated an ice cream! The cornish cream tea was the best ever!! We did love the clotted cream which was well produced. I would wholly recommend The Cornish Vegan as a venue. Best vegan restaurant we have visited to date! Thank you so much to the team for...
