My friends and I ate at your restaurant today for lunch. We were looking forward to a nice catch up and of course we were hoping for some delicious food. We ordered the Peanut chicken salad bowl, I believe it was £11.95 for the portion. When it arrived I was pretty shocked by the quality of the salad, it was basically a bowl of iceberg lettuce, 2 slices of tomatoes, 2 slices of cucumber, and 6 thin slices of chicken, there was a small pot of peanut sauce. It seemed as though I'd been served a cheap salad bag from a supermarket and no effort or cooking required and it was just plonked in my bowl. To be honest for that price the quality of the food was very poor and I would be disappointed even if I had paid £7 or less. There was no real substance to fill us up on that bowl, there was no flare or quality on the plate and nothing to warrant the price. Cheap tomatoes, cheap iceberg lettuce, and cheap cucumber. Even if you said all are organic Id be surprised you could charge that much! I spoke to the staff who are very lovely and they told me to message you here as they said the message will go straight to the owner. As much as I understand prices have gone up, I would still hope for that price to be excited by the food and it be something that is tasty and that I am going to enjoy. I think it's disgusting for a restaurant to charge nearly £12 for a bowl of salad as sad as that! All of my friends were disspointed with their food and we would struggle to recommend this place or return in future. On another note, it's table service but you have to pay at the table when you order, which is a bit weird, almost as though you know the customer will be disappointed but has no choice as they...
Read moreI had stopped in for lunch on a whim. I'd ordered the satay wrap that came with salad and crisps and i also ordered a smoothie. The wrap was filling but not tasty and quite bland and the salad was extremely dissapointing. It was two slices of cucumber and one slice of tomato on a bed of warm limp lettuce (like from a bag from the supermarket). It was all also swimming in some kind of sticky dressing that tasted like it was from a supermaket too. The smoothie was also warm and lacked any distinguishable flavour other than coconut milk. £18 was extremely poor value for the whole thing, a meal deal on a bench would have been nicer. Ive marked down the atmosphere also as Id sat at the front at the window which was a mistake as i had several fruit flies or gnats from the plants landing on my plate and had a stream of people with suitcases and backpacks walking to and from the private section right behind me. A really unenjoyable experience. I've never left a review for a place before, let alone a negative review but the food and atmosphere were so poor and price so high that I feel obliged to. My only real positives were that the decor was cosy and I was seated and served quickly but overall I'd not come again...
Read moreThis is my fave cafe in Truro. I never get tired of coming here.
We went in for another lunch today with my partners parents for their first time as they're visiting us, and yet again the whole team excelled them selves! It was very busy for them today (Tuesday after Easter Monday) but as always they come across as friendly, calm and collected, as well as happy and positive! ❤️
My father in law had Tom Yum soup for the 1st time and he was delighted with his choice, his wife had the chicken satays which were delicious, my husband had the jacket potato with a generous amount of beans and cheese, and I had the delicious and generously filled chicken satay wrap. The tiffin and marble cake were also perfection!
It's honestly always worth every single penny we spend here 🥰
Thanks for having us again everyone. We'll see you again soon, and try and bring the doggo next time! (As I get the impression the staff are disoppointed when Bean isn't with us)...
