Speakeasy @ 48 — Restaurant in Hinckley and Bosworth

My fiancé and I have been so excited to visit the Speakeasy@48 in Hinckley, we have been eagerly looking at all of their progress photos on Facebook and finally got around to going yesterday afternoon.

To say we were impressed would be a massive understatement, even the incredible photos on their social media don’t do the place justice, it’s just so incredibly impressive in person, the entire place is a pleasure to behold.

The vibe is just the best, maximalist design on full show wherever you look, it’s clear the decor has been done with so much love, it’s like an Aladdin’s cave of curios and trinkets, I couldn’t stop just looking around the place and staring at the ceilings.

The owners Terry and Marni were so warm and welcoming, they both came and had a chat with us and introduced themselves, they are wonderful people. Marni spoke to me about the design aesthetic and I could tell how much she loved what she has done with the place. To be fair, she really does have a reason to be that proud, she’s done such a great job.

The drinks service was fast and friendly and it was so nice to have a cold beer outside on a lovely sunny spring day. It’s one of those places that you end up speaking and socialising with people that you haven’t met before, everyone was really friendly and we felt instantly like we were part of the crew!

There seems to be a wealth of events at the Speakeasy, their Facebook is full of events with entertainment and we very much look forward to visiting again.

If you're a lover of "Live" music with an eclectic mix and covering many musical eras then "Speakeasy@48" should be high up on your list of options. If you're looking for something altogether different from the generical "pub" ....Speakeasy is the kind of place your night out is made to be a much more memorable one. The kind of place that makes you feel like you WANT to dress up for, yet don't feel, you HAVE to........Should you want to delight in taking in it's many quirks and details that adorn the timeless interior, you'll need to book a return visit to appreciate the effort and thought that's gone into its decor.. and that equal or, in many cases surpass, some of the most famed yet similar establishments more akin to a large City , you will surely appreciate and relish an eventful night and already be planning your next visit from Speakeasy's popular event schedule. It's a refreshing addition to the many humdrum pubs in and around the town. Speakeasy is more of an experience than a " we'll have a quick one in here"......Refreshing, friendly and quirky, lively entertainment coupled with the most elegant array of teapots for ash trays youd feel guilty of using for respected family members let alone putting out cigarette butts.😁 Anyway, I've spouted off enough....go see, hear and enjoy...........

The speakeasy at 48 is an outstanding venue. The attention to detail inside and outside this bar are unbelievable with an art deco music theme running throughout the quality of the beer and wine is of the highest standard and so are the cocktails . The owners, Terry and his partner are the most welcoming and caring hosts. Their staff are very professional and knowledgeable and welcoming. It was my first visit to this venue. I was attending to hear a friend Joe summers sing and I had an absolutely fantastic evening. I cannot recommend it enough. Yours most sincerely sir, Clifford...
