Monks Cross shopping centre is quiet handy for me as it's just 15 minutes away. We will have the constant discussion about out of town shopping affecting our high street, but as someone with a disability, it's mostly about the parking. At Monks Cross I can park just yards from the shop I need to visit, whereas in town it's just so much more difficult. The centre is also going through an upgrade, partly due the the football stadium rebuild, and it's looking like it's improving on it's already accessible areas. There are good restrooms and from what I've seen, the vast majority of the shops and eating places are wheelchair accessible. All in all a good place to visit with the usual array of shops. The only downside at the moment is that due to the building works going on, the road markings in the parking are can be a little confusing, but I'm sure they'll be fixed soon !

Wonderful retail park. Large stores with river island, boots, tk maxx home-sense, sports direct etc. There’s costa and Starbucks for hot drink and light bites. The greggs is offering takeaway service only, Dinis in isn’t available currently. There’s plenty of car parking. There’s also an asda there. The retail park is close to the park and ride at monks cross, which is a short ride away by bus.

A great place to shop with everything from Primark to Asda also loads of eating venues as well and a small play area for youngsters. B&M bargains has just opened with some very special opening prices which should not be missed. There is something for everyone at Monks Cross. Couplands is great for coffee and a pastry. Sports Direct or JD for shopping.

Would have been a happy experience of good lunch in Prezzo & shopping in John Lewis & Next if we had parked in front of the parking restrictions sign or new there were restrictions in force. Following a happy Thursday out looking for wedding outfits with the mother of the groom I was hit a couple of weeks later with what amounted to an £80 fine. Unfortunately I was driving a hire car due to mine being hit by another driver a week prior to the shopping trip. The parking company charged £45 for the over stay & the car hire company £35 for the admin. Next time I wish to shop & have lunch in the same outing I will choose somewhere like McArthur Glen where it is free no matter how long you stay or park where I know instantly there is a fee to pay from the start. Don't be caught out. The experience was not...

I went into all of the shops at monk's cross, and I also had food. I spent quite a lot of money (for me) there.

I didn't know there was a time limit to stay in the car park, and so I ended up staying 30 minutes over the allowed time, and was fined £60.

Editing this for all who read as of 12/11/24:

G24 are the fining company... I contested the fine on the grounds that I was merely shopping, didn't leave the site where I parked and I provided a bank statement to confirm I spent money there and stayed on site the entire time. I did this through their appeals website and wrote a supporting statement explaining this. They have since emailed me to confirm that they have quashed the fine. So people, please dispute it, provide evidence and explain why you stayed over, and you shouldn't...
