Had a tour of the walled garden as past of a Memory Cafe morning held in Bangor... The guide was knowledgeable and passionate about His job. Even with a hose pipe ban, the staff had maintained the gardens to the best of their ability and their struggles against the Sun paid off as they were able to show many Blooms and share the fascinating stories behind the layout and landscaping... Worth a visit for sure and dogs have a bowl of water waiting for them near the wee cafe were all sorts of non alcohol beverages can be purchased, along with ice cream, scones, buns, etc... A good place to unwind alone with a book or with the family for a few hours of quality time.

Very pleased to say the gardens are looking splendid this year. One section is cleared ready for planting but that doesn't stop the beautiful show of plants that are waiting for your pleasure along paths and in side by side with great sculptures. Do bring a bowl for your dog to drink from with the hot weather as there are water taps around but a lack of drinking places for them. They are also running a pumpkin competition and have forms plus free plant ๐Ÿชด

Fantastic. Definitely worth the trip at this time of year. Plenty of flowers. Beautifully stunning wild flower beds. Just an all round great day out for garden lovers. Even the kids enjoy it and there's ice cream to keep them happy. Plenty of places to have a little sit down and rest. Lots of great opportunity for photos and artists alike. Thankyou walled garden 'gardeners' we love and appreciate you and all your hard work.

I saw a demonstration of coracle making, captive birds of prey and an archery have a go an open day. The cafe looked good and the loos were clean. I will be back to explore it some more as there was clearly a lot of history about the location and the castle seemed well maintained and run. I was there for enjoyable foray of the fungus and I learnt a good deal from the information labels identifying the different trees. There are old plantings of foreign trees and more recent substantial plantings of native species. I will be looking for an...

Canโ€™t recommend this enough for a visit. Not only is it free and easy to park at, but it is a beautifully kept garden. My visit was in June, which is probably one of the best times of year to visit as the place was vibrant and colourful. The garden is sizeable and cleverly split into several different sections each with a unique purpose and feel. The great variety of plants are cleverly planted to compliment each other in size and colour. There is also a very nice cafe in...
