Hidden behind the Old Deans Gardens Wall on Eastgate, the entrance is Gated and to the left of the main entrance to The Cathedral on Minster Yard. The Gardens are kept beautiful, you can make a wish as you throw a coin in the Fountain. The Cafe is spacious and well presented. The Coffee is amazing, so are the cakes. If visiting in a large group, booking is advised due to the increasing volume of visitors, it can get really busy. The Shop has a fabulous range of local artists Paintings, Jewellery, Ornaments and Glass Art. There are a tasty assortment of Jams, Chutneys and a Biscuit selection too. The Lincoln Cathedral momentos and souveniers are plentiful here. If purchasing prezzies the Staff will be happy to gift wrap them, just ask. All staff are well mannered and super helpful in every way. Well...

They served us Yorkshire pudding wraps in soggy brown paper bags, which arrived cold. One of our hot chocolates was cold. Granted, they did rectify this, but they were slow about it and quite rude. In total our party spent in excess of £80. We expected better service than we received and certainly that our food be served on actual plates. Price example. Hot Chocolate £3, Baileys Hot Chocolate £6, turkey dinner wrap £10. Happy to pay such prices if things are freshly cooked, served hot, and on plates, unfortunately they fell well below an accepted level of service. Equally, I don't care that the Christmas Market was on, staff have known this was happening all year, accommodations including additional staff should have been made. The only reason they have 2 stars is because they...

I had probably the best full English breakfast that I've had in Lincoln for many, many years. Everything was cooked perfectly, nice and warm, well presented and so tasty!! We had fast, table service too. I've visited a few times when its super busy and service can be a little slow, however this visit was perfect from start to finish. £11.50 for a full English; I couldn't go every week for that price (even though i want too!) but I will definitely be returning and recommending it to...

The choice of cake was good but the gluten free choice was limited as the ginger cake was not available and the scone was only fruit which is ok if you like fruit. There was also an offer of gluten free brownies which I tried,a little over priced for size and was very hard. The americano came and was luke warm so was given a fresh one which was hot so it must have been stood before serving. The location is good. Hence the 3 star rating.

We were warmly welcomed at the door. It's very useful that there is a contactless point to pay your £5: donation. The place is large but there were so many people here because of the Christmas markets being on, that I couldn't enjoy the atmosphere as I would have wanted to. The shop and cafe were disappointing. We were there in time for the choir singing and this did make my day. We will come back.

The breakfast was lovely and a pretty good portion size that was served by nice polite people and it arrived in good time. The café is a well presented clean environment (although the menus do appear a little dog eared which is a shame) at the side of the main Cathedral. It's probably one of the more expensive breakfasts available in the local area if I'm honest...
