I want to give one star I really do, but it's saving graces first. Ok looking place and the staff were nice enough, but we had no menus on our table just a QR code with the word menu next to it, wouldn't be so bad, but it only showed drinks, no food. We did eventually get food after finding out that a good portion of the menu was not available, so we got sharing nacho's and steak and ale pie. The nachos were unbelievably overpriced, a small plate of 50p corner shop tortillas with a tiny bit of salsa, about 8 slices of jalapenos an ok amount of guacamole and some sour cream that I think was stored next to the ice cream with a squirt of squeezey cheese on top for £9 odd. Then the steak and ale pie, the most flavour on the plate was the peas, the chips had a decent crunch to them, maybe twice fried, but zero flavour, might have been ok if the gravy had any flavour, but I think it was just brown water. In all honesty the inside of the pie was ok, but there wasn't a lot of it and the pastry just made any of the sauce evaporate it was so dry. To wash it down I had a beer, razorback, not a terrible beer, but it was served in a plastic pint glass so that poor little piggy was dead on arrival. Naff end to a wonderful day in such a...
Read moreOur journey started before visiting when I added a special request for a spacious table as I use a walking stick. Not knowing the venue I didn't want to be sat squashed in a corner. I received a phone call from a staff member who explained the layout to ensure we were given a suitable table.
During drinks we were approached and asked if we still wanted to dine as the kitchen was closing at 9 and didn't want us to miss out. We used the app and received a 30% discount as there was a January dine offer.
The food arrived (mixed grill) and despite the steak being a bit chewy everything was very tasty and worth every penny, even if we didn't have the discount!
I would like to thank all that made our experience a pleasure and when we return to Lincoln, which has become a personal favourite, we will know exactly where we will be going for dinner! Superb venue with...
Read moreWent around 3pm on 04/02/2023 and sat down after a day of walking round. The only table was on the top floor (not a problem at all a lovely view) got to the table and started to order when a table next to us had their drinks served. The waitress (sounded American) screamed at the table and slammed the drinks down for making her walk up the stairs to them to serve them when they had placed their order (that sounds like part of her job to me) decided that if this woman was going to scream at other tables for simple drinks orders then I was not going to be subject to that sort of abuse (when I already have a bad back from a work accident and I’d already struggled up 3 flights of stairs but didn’t want to do it any more than I had to) we left straight after. Sort your staff out, never in my life would I have acted like this when I worked in the catering...
