I stayed at the Tower Hotel for a night whilst visiting Lincoln to meet up with friends. I found it hard to find a reasonably priced hotel in the city centre so at £80 for the night, the Tower Hotel was an excellent find. This rate was for a single room with breakfast included. My room was a decent size, with a TV and kettle. Happily, there was also a large window which I could open fully, and given that temperatures were in the mid-20s it was a welcome bonus! The bed was comfortable too and overall I was reasonably happy with the room. The bathroom felt a little neglected and wasn't 100% clean, but the toiletries had a lovely scent so I enjoyed using them. Soundproofing wasn't the best either and I could hear guests talking on the landing, however everything did quiet down after midnight so I wasn't too bothered by this. The hotel itself also has a bar and restaurant which was decorated really tastefully, it had a classy but vintage feel which I really liked. The outdoor seating was perfect for such beautiful weather too. As for parking, I was able to benefit from the free on-street parking using a visitor's pass (you have to pay a £10 refundable deposit for the pass) which was really convenient. There is a fairly large car park opposite, so clearly no issues when it comes to parking at the hotel which is great. Overall, a reasonably priced and enjoyable stay at a hotel which is perfectly placed for a night...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I have eaten here a few times before and found everything on all of our previous visits to be absolutely impeccable and borderline flawless. I have to say however that last night when we visited we were a bit disappointed. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated immediately in a room that had very little by way of ambience. There was no music and nothing by way of a warm atmosphere. The room, although extremely well decorated felt sterile and a bit dark. The waitress was relatively concise and prompt, but a little disinterested in what she was doing. The courses came out far too quickly and less than 50 minutes after arriving, we had "finished" and I felt this did a tremendous disservice to the great quality of the food. I understand that restrictions in restaurants due to coronavirus rules can affect certain aspects of how a service is operated but...given that we were the only ones there for about 30 minutes of our visit, I really can't see how it made a difference. We would certainly dine here again based purely on previous experiences being of such high standard but would like to see an improvement in points...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding reception in July at the Tower Hotel. We had booked several rooms for ourselves and guests for the night before and on our day. We held our wedding reception in the main restaurant and also continued our celebrations in the beer garden in the evening. From when we first emailed to enquire a year before, Christopher and his colleagues were amazing. From this to actually hosting our reception the staff could not have been any more friendlier or more accommodating - They bent over backwards to meet all of our needs to make our wedding day so very special, beautiful and wonderful. They decorated the restaurant with our own decorations and it was stunning. We cannot sing their praises enough. Our guests also had an amazing time and have been full of compliments about every aspect of the Tower. The hotel is fantastic, food was delicious and staff were amazing. We cannot recommend this...
