Now retired, I was the landscape architect who designed the park (its paths, railings and walls around it, seating, play area, etc) back in the early 1990s when I was working at Liverpool City Council. I haven't been back to the park in over 25 years, but it is interesting to see how it has developed since then. The trees are now all mature and most of the furniture I designed for it is still there and in use. My only gripe is the amount of graffiti on the walls around it, and the language used which families with children have to walk past.
