If the bell for last orders goes then treat it like a nuclear siren and get yourself home!

After spending 2-3 hours here the bell for last orders went. I promptly arrived at the bar to ask for a couple of drinks before making my merry way. It was a Saturday evening and not too busy. I had a frustrating 10-15 minute wait (with literally nobody in front of me) without being served, making eye contact with staff behind the bar 2-3 times who chose not to disrupt their conversation with other customers to serve me. Eventually, with more effort than I would typically be prepared to make I grabbed the attention of bar staff. I asked for two drinks. I was then asked "Did you not hear the bells?" I explained I had and had been waiting ten minutes (a conservative estimate at best) and been ignored. Thriving on consistency, this comment was ignored. I left, annoyed and regretting the hard-earned cash I'd bothered putting behind the bar, (whilst noticing the very same barman delivering others' orders) with a sense of absolutely no desire to return.

I applaud the pub in its continuing existence despite the lack of commitment to good service, and a range of alcohol that does not go beyond that of an understocked...

Best pub on campus, with a more traditional feel compared to anywhere else nearby. As well as a great mix of students and locals. Lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff, with more quiet, conversational vibes perfect for a mature student like myself.

Will often pop in after lectures for a drink, usually served by Bella or James who are both lovely. It's always a pleasure to feel so welcomed.
