Very sad to have to leave this review as the beginning of the night and building itself were great, however the end of the night, attitude of members of staff and value for money as a consequence were diabolical and upsetting.
Myself and three others attended the Eurovision watch party, paying £80 for tickets to an event advertised as running from 8pm to midnight (including a pre-party and karaoke). The venue itself was lovely, and the evening began with a great atmosphere full of energy and excitement.
However, things took a very upsetting turn around 11:40pm when the lights were abruptly turned on and the sound was turned down to the point we could no longer hear the broadcast. Despite the whole audience asking for the volume to be restored, we were ignored. A few minutes later, the sound was switched off completely, and we were told this was being done “to get us all out.”
Eventually, the sound was turned back on briefly so we could hear the final result but Eurovision still wasn’t over, and before the last performance could even air, the screen was turned off and we were asked to leave.
If there were time constraints due to licensing or staffing that required the broadcast to end strictly at midnight, this should have been clearly communicated at the time of ticket purchase or at the very least at the start of the event. The way we were rushed out, while some were trying to gather their belongings or even just use the toilet, was chaotic and disrespectful.
It’s especially disheartening because the event had such a wonderful, inclusive atmosphere earlier in the night. So many guests had clearly put in a lot of effort and were genuinely excited, having travelled far and looked forward to this event for weeks.
Unfortunately, the abrupt and poorly managed ending overshadowed what could have been a truly memorable night. I had been looking forward to visiting this venue for a long time, but after this experience, I sadly won’t...

The event was advertised to last until 00:00, yet at 23:40 when the results were still being broadcast, some twenty minutes before the winner was announced/the event I paid £40 for, lights were turned on and the volume significantly lowered, with people at the back audibly voicing how they were unable to hear.
Five minutes later, the sound was muted entirely. Again, a significant amount of time before the advertised event finished/when Eurovision itself hadn't finished. The sound was only switched back on after elongated protests from patrons, for the last 30 seconds of the results announcement.
The staff were visibly rude and dismissive when complaints were made, when said complaints were valid since the advertised event hadn't finished.
The staff completely dismissed these complaints for over 10 minutes, with one member of staff sporting a tropical shirt and baseball cap loudly responding to one such complaint saying something like "[We turned it off early] because we want to get out of here", before eventually succumbing 30 seconds before the results announcement and turning the sound back on after loud chants of "Refund, Refund, Refund".
Whilst I understand working events/late finishes can be difficult, this was a step too far.
The rude and dismissive treatment ruined our evening, as it did for everyone else attending, which we travelled from London to attend.
The advertised event didn't fulfil what was promoted and sold to it's customers: a full screening of this year's Eurovision, in its audible entirety.
I have attached screenshots showing said advertised event using the Internet Archive to retrieve the website page for the event which has oddly...
Read moreThe play was good but in the restaurant some members of staff were surly and grumbled about they should have charged us for the table. A coffee was charged for an we had to ask for it. I was standing in the aisle at the break stretching my legs and there was the announcement to come back to the theatre and one of the ushers made a b line for me and ordered me to sit down. There were other people standing and moving about getting into their seats. Had the lights gone down and I was standing for some time I don't think that would have been unreasonable. I am 63 years of age and was spoken to like a 12 year old. Through the second half of the show people were standing up uninvited and they weren't told off. I think some staff like the power and it has put me...
