Visited today for the first time in about 10 years and was not disappointed. Beautiful place with lots to see; fascinating house with lots of items made/owned by the ladies of llangollen. Peaceful gardens full of bridges, fonts and little hideaways with a stream running through it. The guide at the door was fantastic, gave us a concise, interesting and informative history of the house which was great. Had lunch in the tea rooms afterwards which was absolutely delicious and the male member of staff who served us was lovely and very efficient. My only criticism is the female member of staff (long blonde hair, glasses), she didn't smile once, thumping cutlery about, quite rude, no pleases or thankyous and gave off a very negative, angry vibe that made the atmosphere quite uncomfortable when she was around. She also wasn't the politest in talking to other customers or the male member of staff. Other than that though, fantastic. Will...

Despite having visited the Llangollen area many times I had my first visit to Plas Newydd on Friday 5th September 2025. What a delightful place! Tranquil and in a stunning setting with views of Castell Dinas Bran and the Panorama Walk to the north. Lovely grounds (a mix of lawned areas, gardens and extensive woodland with a stream running though) together with a stunning black & white house with an intriguing history (a building covered in amazing carved timber curiosities). On top of this it has friendly staff who are enthusiastic about the property and its heritage. Also, it has a fantastic café with both indoor and outdoor seating and delicious food. What’s more, the grounds and café are free to enter although the house is worth entering for the £9 charge. I will definitely be visiting again and wish I'd...

Passed this place numerous times and have never stopped, this time we did. We've seen the headstone in the local church and now we can put the whole story together. We walked up the hill from Llangollen and as you approach the house it's quite stunning. You stop at the tea rooms first that sells lovely coffee's,teas, cakes etc and then you head to the house. It sits behind immaculate lawns, topiary hedges and Stonehenge type stones. You get a short Q&A introduction and then you head in.The house is amazing, full of small rooms, dark timbers, old furniture, steep staircases and lots and lots of history. To think these ladies lived here with there maid all those years is incredible. The famous visitors that came from London etc to see them ,you can't believe. Its quite a story.Well...

A great surprise to find such an interesting property tucked away like this. The audio descriptions in the rooms are fascinating.
