Terrible Customer service.

Went to Chatwins for coffee and cake with my family (2&6yr olds) on a cold January morning. We ordered to eat inside which was fine although we were served in paper cups not crockery (Others in the cafe were similar), I went and ordered an additional cake to eat at home and rejoined my family. I was then followed by a member of staff and told to leave as I hadn't paid to sit inside even though I had previously ordered to eat inside (Note Cake was bought to consume out of the cafe, member of staff was informed of this when I got challenged purchasing it). We clearly asked to sit inside when we ordered, so if an error has been made it's on the staff's behalf. When we mentioned this when we were challenged it was ignored and we were told that others had paid to sit inside. I won't be going back and if we haven't paid the correct rate in error I hope Chatwins do the honourable thing and contact HMRC to inform them of selling takeaway but letting...

I love the carvery baps they do here but not sure they should be spraying cleaning products on the glass when food is in front of it or mopping floors and leaving both front and back doors open in early February on a Sunday afternoon, got the feeling they wanted to get off home as early as possible. There is a member of staff, I think is the manager who is so miserable looking and the cleaning areas to be more important than the serving by the young girls. Lovely food. Shame about the unwelcoming...

Sadly the effort from one particular woman there left me annoyed. She told me they ran out of a certain item, only to see it available a few mins later whilst sitting in the cafe, instead of saying to me we will have some soon, & knowing two other staff starred at me, nothing! Instead the most tasteless item was chosen, due to lack of availability on many things, baring in mins it was 11.55am. The cost of everything is overrated 💯 expensive. You pay for what u think is...
