The cemetery itself is lovely, but the staff are unhelpful and the Park Manager is openly rude and obnoxious. I got married locally and, having lived in the area for many years, thought it would be perfect to have some of our wedding photos taken in the grounds of the cemetery. Having submitted a 'Lifestyle Photography Application Form' I waited a week before telephoning to chase up my request, and found out that the staff were 'checking for availability' despite the fact I made it clear we needed only one hour in Mid-December for a photographer to take shots of just the bride and groom. The Park charges a fee of £120 for the privilege, and your photographer has to have public liability insurance of £5m. We were then told we wouldn't be allowed to drive the wedding car into the cemetery, and that we'd have to carry all of our equipment in on foot. My bride explained that if it rained on the day her dress could potentially get ruined, but the Park Manager explained in a surly and sarcastic way that all of the paths in the cemetery are very clean. We were also informed by the office clerk that ‘we don’t permit any vehicles to come into any of our parks for Wedding photography.’ We ideally wanted to have shots taken with the wedding car and conceded we’d be happy to pay a bit more to be granted an exception to drive a 1970s Asquith Taxi at 5mph into the cemetery and park by The Pavilion for a few classic shots. The Park Manager said he would consider our request, but of course we never heard from him again. Breath-taking arrogance and a complete disdain for the local community, not to mention a complete lack of any commercial sense. Needless to say, the sun shone on the day and it would have been perfect for us to have those photos as memories of a very special day, but we had no licence due to the unnecessary bitterness and bureaucracy of a small group of people who manage a public space as if it was their own...

Lovely place to walk,de stress. Only criticisms are people should take more care when cycling through at break neck speed, hard to get hold of anyone on phone, and the office should always be manned when coming there to find no one’s there,as couldn’t get hold of anyone..I had gone to see if something I lost was there.Saw a man in a van and had spoke to someone in shop.Spoke to office eventually. Lacking security presence. Apparently there are patrols which later found out. My mother has now been inturned?.Bradley and the other guy who dug the grave are amazing, and were so kind and respectful, stepping back, and compassionate. Definitely go to cemetery truly amazing.Loads of squirrels. It’s full of interesting history.Emmaline Pankhurst for example.Cafe and shop too.Amazing venue for a funeral service, and to arrange ashes to be buried,or your loved ones buried.
