The really only good thing about this hotel was its location near the subway, other than that it was the worst hotel experience I've had in quite some time. I booked a King Suite with a city view that I requested be handicap accessible though British Airways. They assured me that this request had been accepted by the hotel. I get to the hotel and we were not in the accessible room. We were moved to the accessible room, but it didn't have the sofa bed which was needed for my twins. We finally got confirmation a rollaway bed would be given after waiting almost 45 minutes during check in. I also gave my card for incidentals during check in, which they only charge 2gbp. Because check in took so long and me and my kids were tired, we were left with doing room service, which was overpriced and disgusting food. Save your money and look on Ubereats. So going back to giving my card for incidentals, I received a letter under my door stating they needed to charge my card for the room service the following morning. In all the hotels I've stayed at, this is done at check out not during the stay. I called down to the front desk that morning and the clerk I spoke with stated she fixed the issue on her end so everything was fine. It was quite frustrating upon our return to our room in the evening, the hotel starts ringing my room just as we get into the room stating that I needed to come downstairs to pay for the room service. I stated that I was told this was fixed this morning and that I wouldn't have to pay it until check out. The clerk spoke with the manager and stated I was given incorrect information and that I needed to come down to pay it now even though we were not checking out until the next day. Never have I stayed at a hotel where this was a practice because they didn't hold enough for the incidentals. The repeated disruptions and different information provided by the front desk clerks was unacceptable and unprofessional. I also booked the King Suite with a city view and it turned out to just be facing office buildings who could see into our room. So instead of getting the view I paid for, we had to keep our windows closed for privacy. Overall, we will not stay here again and I will try another Hilton hotel when staying in London.

this hotel is excellent ONLY if you are in an executive room!! thankfully we got upgraded to executive upon arrival, but I seriously cannot imagine staying here without access to the lounge or the executive floors - you can see in the image below how different the executive top floors look through the courtyard windows at night. The executive lounge was my favorite thing - free drinks and light snacks for 2 hours every day as well as free breakfast. Somebody next to us got their purse stolen in the executive lounge which you have to have a room key to get into, however, there are cameras in the room and it sounded like the staff was treating the guest extremely well given the circumstance. Free still and sparkling water bottles in the executive lounge too which we stocked up on frequently. Robes & slippers in the room too! We did not try the hotel bar or the rooftop lounge, but there are some amazing restaurants in walking distance as well as the nearby Tower Bridge. It is a quick 5 minute walk to bus routes, the tube station nearby was not open when we were there in june, but if it was it is literally right down the street and would’ve been so incredibly convenient. The location is somewhat far to main attractions like soho district or buckingham palace. This hotel is closer to the business district, but we VERY much enjoyed being on this side of London because it was significantly quieter, less touristy, and still easy to take the tube or buses without sitting in a bunch of main London traffic. We transferred to a 5-star Hilton for a few nights for a business conference that was near Hyde park and absolutely hated it. Even though that was supposed to be a nicer hotel it looked very pretty, but it was so loud, so busy, smaller room, etc. this hotel is much quieter and more affordable and I would 100% stay here again on our next visit to London!

As Diamond members, we recently stayed at the Hilton DoubleTree London - Tower of London. While our stay had its cool highlights, there were some areas of concern that should be addressed. Upon arrival, our check-in was delayed until 4:30 PM, which was 1.5 hours past the promised time. This contrasts with our experiences in other cities with the same Brand such as Barcelona, where our room has often been ready by 9 AM. Additionally, the breakfast policy was unexpected. Despite our Diamond status, we incurred additional charges for breakfast. A simple toast was priced at £10, resulting in an additional £280 for a family of four over a week. In other Hilton locations like Dubai, Vienna, Barcelona, and Madrid, breakfast is typically included for Gold and Diamond members also the additional things that can be ordered. On a positive note, the rooms were comfortable and offered a pleasant view and a good space We appreciated the upgrade we received after the delay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, doing their best to enhance our stay. Another commendable feature was the Executive Lounge with its Happy Hour, a benefit not commonly found at other DoubleTree Hotels . The hotel’s location is ideal, with many major attractions within walking distance. While our overall experience in London was enjoyable, we are hesitant to return to this particular Hilton. The additional charges for a basic breakfast, which is usually complimentary for loyal members, and the delayed check-in after a long journey were significant drawbacks. Adhering to the promised check-in time is crucial for guest satisfaction. In conclusion, while London remains a wonderful destination, this Hilton property could benefit from some improvements in service consistency and member benefits.

Average at best. As a diamond member, they told us they upgraded us to an executive suite, yet it was on the 2nd floor facing the front street which was noisy in the morning, the room was small, which I wasn't sure which was so executive about to begin with. Was it the small couch that really wasn't functional? The hallways, which other mentioned smelled horribly bad. It's like body odor and mold. The carpets are stained and rippled. They really need to replace the carpets in this hotel. One evening, we noticed both the sink and shower soaps were empty. When we went out for the afternoon, we asked the front desk to have these replaced. Several hours later when we returned, they were never replaced. After several calls, they finally sent someone up at 1:00 a.m.! Oh, and one of the soaps had a broken pump. One of the housekeepers on the ground floor yelled at me when I went to use the water closet by the restaurants to wash my hands. I couldn't really understand what she was saying, but either way, DO NOT yell at hotel guests. She was extremely rude to me. The fridge in the room always ran hot. Useless. The executive lounge was always dirty, especially during breakfast. Always dirty dishes around. I had to push dishes away for a place to sit. Housekeeping would also not clean up anything in the room if we got room service. They would let anything from room service sit there. This was odd. This hotel could be so much better. The concierges were nice though and the location near the tube station and Tower of London were good. Beware though that the location is somewhat of a food desert. If you haven't eaten and it's after 8:00 p.m., you won't eat.

Summary - as my regular readers (ha!) will know I am a great fan of Hiltons and stay at them regularly. This one has been may favourite when in London for quite a while but I think my enthusiasm is waning….but what’s happened I hear you ask? Let’s start with the good things. The rooms are good, the location is excellent and the service is generally pretty good. Bar is pricey but that is central London for you. The not so good things are two fold. Firstly the executive lounge (yes, I know, first world problems) ain’t anywhere near as good as it used to be. The main attraction of the executive lounge at any Hilton is free drinks at certain times along with food. For this one it’s lager or wine and tough if you don’t like either. Now this may not be a problem for most but they used to have lots more choice in the recent past so it’s a downhill move. Oh, want vegan food in the executive lounge? No chance! Go to Wetherspoons instead! The second one is how they present the non dairy milk at breakfast. The soya, oat and almond milk are all in the same type of jar with a little label next to them. So what happens if they get shuffled round? I suspect it would be very bad news for someone allergic to nuts (like my partner). Just keep them in their cartons! Then there are no issues. That been said its still pretty good but it was better.

This place is way past its prime, it literally feels like you’ve been transferred back in time it’s THAT dated. At the price of £250 a night not to have basics such as a kettle with tea/coffee, working phone, wifi or toilet that doesn’t require Hulk strength to flush is just crazy. Ive stayed in the saddest, most basic looking room I’ve stayed in this year and it was marketed as ‚exec’. I was almost shocked to discover the TV was in fact working. I’m staying in london for work regularly and I this is just as bad as the Tower Hotel by the actual london bridge. PS. Bring the earplugs, the aircon is so loud you can’t tell if you are in the wind tunnel or at the airport about to take off Edit: to respond to the owner- I couldn’t call the reception as the phone wasn’t working. I went down once to sort the wifi but wasn’t particularly keen on running up and down every time another issue popped up, they shouldn’t be there to begin with. I also opened all drawers there was iron, safe etc no kettle/teA
