this hotel is excellent ONLY if you are in an executive room!! thankfully we got upgraded to executive upon arrival, but I seriously cannot imagine staying here without access to the lounge or the executive floors - you can see in the image below how different the executive top floors look through the courtyard windows at night. The executive lounge was my favorite thing - free drinks and light snacks for 2 hours every day as well as free breakfast. Somebody next to us got their purse stolen in the executive lounge which you have to have a room key to get into, however, there are cameras in the room and it sounded like the staff was treating the guest extremely well given the circumstance. Free still and sparkling water bottles in the executive lounge too which we stocked up on frequently. Robes & slippers in the room too! We did not try the hotel bar or the rooftop lounge, but there are some amazing restaurants in walking distance as well as the nearby Tower Bridge. It is a quick 5 minute walk to bus routes, the tube station nearby was not open when we were there in june, but if it was it is literally right down the street and would’ve been so incredibly convenient. The location is somewhat far to main attractions like soho district or buckingham palace. This hotel is closer to the business district, but we VERY much enjoyed being on this side of London because it was significantly quieter, less touristy, and still easy to take the tube or buses without sitting in a bunch of main London traffic. We transferred to a 5-star Hilton for a few nights for a business conference that was near Hyde park and absolutely hated it. Even though that was supposed to be a nicer hotel it looked very pretty, but it was so loud, so busy, smaller room, etc. this hotel is much quieter and more affordable and I would 100% stay here again on our next visit to London!

As Diamond members, we recently stayed at the Hilton DoubleTree London - Tower of London. While our stay had its cool highlights, there were some areas of concern that should be addressed. Upon arrival, our check-in was delayed until 4:30 PM, which was 1.5 hours past the promised time. This contrasts with our experiences in other cities with the same Brand such as Barcelona, where our room has often been ready by 9 AM. Additionally, the breakfast policy was unexpected. Despite our Diamond status, we incurred additional charges for breakfast. A simple toast was priced at £10, resulting in an additional £280 for a family of four over a week. In other Hilton locations like Dubai, Vienna, Barcelona, and Madrid, breakfast is typically included for Gold and Diamond members also the additional things that can be ordered. On a positive note, the rooms were comfortable and offered a pleasant view and a good space We appreciated the upgrade we received after the delay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, doing their best to enhance our stay. Another commendable feature was the Executive Lounge with its Happy Hour, a benefit not commonly found at other DoubleTree Hotels . The hotel’s location is ideal, with many major attractions within walking distance. While our overall experience in London was enjoyable, we are hesitant to return to this particular Hilton. The additional charges for a basic breakfast, which is usually complimentary for loyal members, and the delayed check-in after a long journey were significant drawbacks. Adhering to the promised check-in time is crucial for guest satisfaction. In conclusion, while London remains a wonderful destination, this Hilton property could benefit from some improvements in service consistency and member benefits.

I’m a diamond member and spend a lot of time at Hilton’s. I have to say not very impressed with this one. The first thing was check in, the woman was rude, complained that loads of people had been checking in and that it was a very busy day. I didn’t get any welcome or upgrade (which is normal for gold and diamond members). I asked for a twin room, was told I had one and ended up with a king. I went downstairs to say the room is a king not twin with a staff member called Daniella on reception and she couldn’t do enough, she ended up providing the upgrade and a much better service experience. I really can’t fault her professionalism at all, so different than the first lady I spoke to. The lift situation is awful, at peak times you could be waiting up to 15 minutes to get down or up (needs to be improved for sure). Every day different guests were making the same comments about the delays and that the lifts were always full etc. I tried to take the stairs and got trapped at the lower area, only for a staff member to walk me through the kitchens and through the back of the bar. He said guests don’t use the stairs? The executive lounge is tiny and very hot and stuffy. I only went for one night and didn’t go back. Normally the lounge is a sweet spot for diamond but I didn’t rate this one at all. The bar on top (Savage) is nice for photos and some drinks, but you must book in advance to guarantee a spot over the weekend. Breakfast was absolutely rammed, I’ve not seen a Hilton breakfast so busy before. Only one coffee machine serving everyone normally means there are times that coffee with milk options are unavailable (lattes etc). Come on Hilton, you’re better than this.

Average at best. As a diamond member, they told us they upgraded us to an executive suite, yet it was on the 2nd floor facing the front street which was noisy in the morning, the room was small, which I wasn't sure which was so executive about to begin with. Was it the small couch that really wasn't functional? The hallways, which other mentioned smelled horribly bad. It's like body odor and mold. The carpets are stained and rippled. They really need to replace the carpets in this hotel. One evening, we noticed both the sink and shower soaps were empty. When we went out for the afternoon, we asked the front desk to have these replaced. Several hours later when we returned, they were never replaced. After several calls, they finally sent someone up at 1:00 a.m.! Oh, and one of the soaps had a broken pump. One of the housekeepers on the ground floor yelled at me when I went to use the water closet by the restaurants to wash my hands. I couldn't really understand what she was saying, but either way, DO NOT yell at hotel guests. She was extremely rude to me. The fridge in the room always ran hot. Useless. The executive lounge was always dirty, especially during breakfast. Always dirty dishes around. I had to push dishes away for a place to sit. Housekeeping would also not clean up anything in the room if we got room service. They would let anything from room service sit there. This was odd. This hotel could be so much better. The concierges were nice though and the location near the tube station and Tower of London were good. Beware though that the location is somewhat of a food desert. If you haven't eaten and it's after 8:00 p.m., you won't eat.

Failure and absolute incompetence by both DoubleTree and Hotels.com. I booked a room for 3 guests, for "1 King Bed and 1 Double Sofa Bed'', and was refused the room I paid for. I was given no real remedy, no refund, and no option but to sleep in the room they gave me. They didn't even have the room prepped for 3 people to start, had to call multiple times to get sheets and towels. The double sofa bed was clearly a lie. There was a small, probably smaller than a twin, regular couch in the room but it certainly didn't pull out and certainly didn't extend in any fashion to become double sized. The staff, tried to show us how to pull out the bed, came to our room and everything, and were also unable to pull out the bed...because it was a regular couch. Still after seeing the room was obviously incorrect, they did not offer to address it properly by giving me fitting accommodation. After working with the hotel that night, giving them ample opportunity to make it right, taking time away from my vacation, they offered nothing. Later working with hotels.com, giving them an opportunity to make it right, they offered me a measley $25 credit. I was honestly impressed by the level of incompetence by Hilton. I literally went out of my way to book a Hilton because it's a brand I know and trust and was severely let down. I'll also probably be dropping hotels.com, after they changed their rewards policy, and this recent customer service experience, they're trash.

We often stay in this kind of hotel and picked this one due to its location and brand. Hotel is easy to find and is very welcoming. Very spacious modern layout and a free cookie on check in. Check in was fairly quick although an issue with the booking did hold up the que a little. The issue was quickly sorted and key cards issued. Walking into the room was a pleasant experience although short lived due to a dirty used ice bucket being left. This was reported and quickly dealt with. However on leaving the room we were confronted by two police offices in the opposite room. Not a major issue as they were professional and keeping things quiet but further along the corridor a very strong smell of cannabis was evident. A change of room and floor was requested and facilitated promptly. Morning breakfast can be busy and you may have to wait to be seated but this happens in many hotels. The breakfast was the standard self service with a good selection of hot and cold food. The restaurant was clean and tidy even at a busy time. Overall the hotel and staff (especially on the front desk, sorry didn't get your names) was great as a London get away. The hotel has a small underground car park operating on a first come first served basis but caution is needed when parking with a low car as some of the bays have fold down bollards which can foul on the underside of the car(as I found to my peril. Would I stay again......yes I would if I was in that part of London
