I love County parks, and this is the one I visit the most often, as it's the closest to my place/ a bus ride away. It is quite big, with plenty of fields, and a forest area for walking your dog, strolling through the trees, having a picnic, playing outdoor activities. It is mostly quiet and relatively clean, there's a pond at the top of the hill in the forest, where you can relax, sit on one of the benches, take advantage of the rubbish bins and enjoy nature. There are 2 smaller ponds outside the forest, but not quite worth a visit, as there's not much to see. The park is accessible from various outside points, 10 minutes walking distance from Kingsbury Circle or ~20 minutes from the Wembley Asda/ Brent Council. I normally get off the bus at Magnolia Court bus stop, turn left and walk in a straight line by the smaller park (it has a football field, a couple of benches and bins), cross over the train tracks and enter the Fryent County Park. There's a little grassy hill with a bench at the top, it has a lovely view of the surroundings and far away buildings, especially at sunset. 4 stars out of 5 as its not as clean as it should, there's a need for at least one bin by that bench on the hill top, as some people leave rubbish behind. If you go on the road that splits the park in 2, there are plenty of apple trees...

Comprising two sections intersected by the A4140 (Fryent Way) mostly historical subdivided meadows excepting for the Barn Hill woodland along the southern perimeter. The Gaderbrook on the western area with some wetland feeder ditches, small ponds and a patchwork of hedgerows dividing the pasture fields provide cover for a diversity of flora and fauna. The “Capital Ring” trail passes through named, irregular fields “that have survived almost unchanged since the 16th.Century”* A well maintained area ably assisted by the local Barn Hill Conservation Group. The obvious impetus here understandably to protect wildlife habitats and flora. In wet conditions some areas here be soggy and waterlogged with a thick clay substrate: suitable footwear essential to traverse the terrain which offers a sweeping view from Gotfords Hill. This might just tick the box for the off-piste walker who enjoys windswept terrain, an open sky and quiet. extract from Park...
