I recently had the pleasure of visiting chai & chapati on three occasions with both friends and family, and each time was an absolute delight. From the impeccable service to the stunning interior design, this establishment has truly left a lasting impression on me. Allow me to share my experience and highlight the reasons why I highly recommend chai & chapati.
First and foremost, the service here is truly exceptional. The staff members are attentive, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure that guests feel welcome and comfortable. One particular staff member, Ankita, stood out for her warm and welcoming nature. Her genuine hospitality added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience, and it was evident that she takes great pride in providing excellent service.
The interior of chai & chapati is nothing short of immaculate. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by a stylish and tastefully decorated space. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the elegant lighting fixtures to the carefully chosen furnishings. Whether it's a cozy booth for an intimate dinner or a larger table for a group gathering, the restaurant offers a variety of seating options to suit every occasion.

Read moreLovely looking restaurant, staff were attentive and did their job flawlessly. Not so happy with the food coming out of the kitchen. I have been here several times before and we were looking forward to trying the new dubai chapati burgers their now selling at their knightsbridge branch but not at Kingsbury. I don't think i will return to this branch.
Unfortunately on this occasion the Food wasn't as good as the last two occasions i had visited. Food now is over hyped, over rated and over priced. For a family it's ridiculously expensive. The prices have gone up but the food quality has gotten worse. The paranthas were very oily, and the food wasn't as tasty or good as I remembered. On previous occasions I had tried the breakfast items. I recalled being pleasantly surprised on the second occasion I visited I had a dinner consisted of mixed platters and desserts overall a nice experience. On this occasion what an experience for all the wrong reasons. I could be wrong but since the opening of the new branch in Knightsbridge it seems the original chefs from Kingsbury have gone there? It is the only possibility I can think of why the food is now so average and most of the food items being so tasteless.
On this occasion the only saving grace was the eggy double smash beef burger which was very good. The rest of the food was a let down. Chow mein was very oily tasteless, the chicken burger was fried dry and edible rubber. The philly steak sandwich lacked meat content more bun less meat. Chips served with every dish and no peri salt. The mocktail drinks tasted very good but at £10 pounds each seemed expensive. Chapati beef roll was excessively oily and was dripping in oil.
The desserts were a mix batch especially the Matilda cake was actually very good, San Sebastian Cake not so, and the milk cake was a miss. The coconut cake and custard was decent.
The Iraqi tea was a delight. The pink chai not so.
Astonished that Chai and Chapatti use muller / arla milk and products such as anchor butter which has the controversial bovaer additive. Which we as a family avoid.
Recommendation: Considering the prices and the look. You come across as a premium branded place you must source better ingredients. Bare minimum you must use Kerrys Gold grass fed butter, Estate Diary Whole Milk or Grahams Gold Milk and non arla milk unless you really want to keep costs low, and don't care about quality or your customers.
Somethings not right since I last visited. At this price point the food has...
Read moreI recently visited Chai & Chapati and I would like to share my thoughts about my experience.
Upon entering Chai & Chapati, I found the ambiance and overall appearance of the restaurant to be appealing. The establishment seemed to have invested well in creating a visually pleasing environment. However, my main concern lies with the quality of the food.
In terms of the culinary experience, I must express my disappointment. The food I tasted lacked flavour and was rather tasteless. It felt as though the restaurant did not have experienced chefs preparing the dishes. This was surprising to me, as I believe a skilled chef is a crucial aspect to any successful restaurant.
However, I must acknowledge that there was one positive aspect of my dining experience at Chai & Chapati. The pickle served was enjoyable and stood out among the other dishes. ( I am sure that was not prepared on site)
Regrettably, based on my experience, I have decided that I will not be returning to Chai & Chapati in the future. If you are considering a visit, I would only recommend going for the sake of capturing pictures for social media, as the aesthetics of the place are appealing. However, it would be best to limit your purchase to a bottle of water for photography purposes, as I found the food to be unsatisfactory. Would definitely not recommend this to my friends or family and the viewers of this geniune review.
To the Chef or whoever has replied to this review, I am absolutely appalled that this is the way you responded. Customer service clearly isnt important to you, and if it is then you have a funny way of showing it.
As for a receipt, we weren’t given one. However please find below the items we ordered:
Pani Puri : Tasteless Boneless Chicken Wings: They were not even wings. Kheema : no Taste or flavour Butter Chicken : no Taste no flavour Chapatti : thats like a parotha Apple Juice : Water Desi Chai : Decent (too sweet)
Amongst the problems you had, one of them was also that your till system wasnt working properly.
Also you need train your staff as they just cleared the plate with out asking.
As an experienced professional within the industry, i have given you feedback so that you can improve on it .. not to be insulted by “the chef” and to be told that i...
