Kew Green, Richmond Kew Green, Richmond, TW9 3BH Although Kew Green is a small area, and yet, it it greatly lived by the locals and by those who travel to it. You will soon notice that it is a popular spot for both community and sporting events, especially during the summer. In the summer, you can't help but notice the fact that the green is used for majority of the summer for cricket. If you look carefully at the pictures, you will see about 8 wickets prepared throughout the summer. As one is worn down by use, the next is ready for the next match. Apart from cricket, you will see The local residents coming for a walk individually or as couples or even with their dogs. Thankfully in recent decades, the British public has chosen to pick-up the waste of their dogs and local councils has provided bins where people can then dump this waste. You will see locals coming along to the green as individuals or couples or a group and sitting, chathing or simply walking. Within walking distance of the River Thames, the green acts as a good starting point for a rambling walk along the towpath. There is also a cricket pitch which is used frequently during the summer. At the North East corner of Kew Green is Kew Pond. This old horse pond is now an attractive local feature thanks to volunteers from the Friends of Kew Pond who planted the island and pond edges, creating habitat for a range of water birds. The water level is managed by a sluice gate that allows river water to fill the pond via an underground channel during high spring tide.

A lovely green space near Kew Gardens. Open feald, good for practice sport. A few places to rest. Good pubs around. It is a one way rout for the cars and limited parking space. The church is beautiful and worth to be visited.

Kew Green is a large open space in Kew in west London. Owned by the Crown Estate, it is leased to the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is roughly triangular in shape, and its open grassland, framed with Broad-leaved trees, extends to about thirty acres.

Kew Green is overlooked by a mixture of period townhouses, historic buildings and commercial establishments. In the 1730s, Kew Green was a venue for...

If you have a hankering to watch live cricket for free on balmy Summer afternoons then Kew Green is a great option for this pass time. 😁 King Henry 7th made the Kew Green big enough to indulge in his favourite entertainment of jousting and his guest spectators on their tiered benches and accompanied Mkt stalls. Kew Green Gate entrance to the Royal Botanical Gardens of Kew and Kew Palace are at it's far end. And half way down on the right of it is a wee lane that will lead you into the entrance of The Herbarium and Library of all things botanical. On the left side of Kew Green and situated on it, is St Anne's Parish Church erected in 1710 with it's vaulted ceilings and named after it's...
