When one enters Sift you can't help but be welcomed by a cornucopia of delicious foods baked with love in their own kitchen. Choices bubble over every inch of counter space as they lack the room to contain all the treats. Your appetite will have to make some hard choices knowing that it couldn't possibly enjoy them all.
While you can't make any errors in choosing a tasty treat, the real star of the experience is the Adonis blur of a man behind the counter. A Greek god? we may never know, but with Cypriot blood that shares the birthplace of Aphrodite, the mother of Adonis... who is to say.
You may never even get a good look since the speed of the master barista flies from station to station multi-tasking a register, cooking food and pouring precision espresso drinks. Everything happens so fast and all can agree this place has one similarity to Cyprus.. It is clearly the playground of the gods, where earthly delights mingle with feats of amazing dexterity.
When you find yourself at the front of a long queue, don't be surprised if you are sidelined from not having your order ready. Obvioiusly you must have been distracted by the bustle of the 'speed of man' meets the 'beauty food'. The card machine welcomes your payment with a tap, but should technology fail cash is always king.
Unquestionably the best cafe experience in Kew and the Royal Gardens are across the street. You can leave Sift feeling good about supporting a family business that has such a quick yet attentive and welcoming work ethic. It is a refreshing treat in Europe and would make...

We like the coffee here. We usually buy our coffee beans from this place and brew them at home. Today, for the first time, I chose to come here to study. I ordered my coffee and got straight to work. Then I thought, âI might be hungry,â and picked something to eat. What I heard next shocked me.
âYou need to leave this corner (apparently, I had spread out too much for studying) because every Friday at this time, it is reserved for someone else.â
The cafĂ© was full, so I squeezed myself into a tiny space with my notebooks, books, and pasta. Eventually, it just wasnât working, so I left and went to another cafĂ©âonly to pay again for something to eat and drink⊠What a waste of time!
Itâs ridiculous, isnât it?
I think all customers should be treated specially. You can open a restaurant or a café, but running it, making people happy, and being fair is a big challenge.
ThanksâŠ
And as you can see, because I sit for a long time and work for 1 hour (only on a stool for one person. ) It is forbidden to sit for a long time in this cafe. It is also said that it is normal for us to be disturbed. Even though I paid ÂŁ30 for 1 person. I hope you get a good...
Read moreSo glad we stumbled across this place several months ago⊠the coffee is excellent and thereâs always an amazing selection of cakes and pastries on offer as well as delicious arrays of lunch type options like sandwiches, sausage rolls, savoury pastries, soup and juices as well as several choices of healthy salads with pasta, grains, veges etc. Thereâs no where else around that serves such a good mix of options and itâs all prepared fresh onsite. Always accommodating and friendly, Nick is a lovely guy, always up for a chat and welcoming to everyone. Itâs small and often busy but weâve never had an issue getting a seat or sharing a table and often end up in great conversations with other customers also. Extra bonus, itâs...
