Not much left of this Manor House. King Edward III, who reigned during the black death, started the 100 years war with France. It was built around 1350 and it had a moat on three sides while the fourth side overlooked at the river Thames. It is not clear the function but it is believed it was not for hunting as there was not next to a royal park. The most popular theory is that the place was used by the king to practice falconry.

The remains of King Edward III which have had a long and interesting past. Don't go out of your way to visit it as there really is not much to see, but if you are nearby, it is cool to see and think about how different the area would have looked when the manor was in use.

Not that much to see other than a low wall - but what a history!

Nothing much here except a patch of grass, the remains of some earthworks and an interpretation board. But with a bit of imagination you are in a bit of amazing history and it's still here for you to visit and wonder. Along with all of the other incredible bits of history around here it's magical and an education. Dont miss it....
