Bermondsey Tandoori — Restaurant in London

TLDR: tasty food, great service, quick delivery, tandoori dishes better than curries, biryani really good!

I've been ordering takeaway from here regularly over the last year or so, roughly 2-4 times a month, and I'm always satisfied. I've tried a number of different dishes and each one seems to be better than the last.

I found some of the curries, such as rogan and bhuna, somewhat lacking in flavour, but the dansak is very tasty. The tandoori section of the menu has become my go to, usually paired with a curry sauce which you can order seperately - something I've not seen on any other Indian takeaway menu before.

Tonight I tried their biryani for the first time and I'm super impressed. I went for the mughlai and my only criticism would be that the lamb was dry. Everything else was great, especially the vegetable curry which I wouldn't normally eat.

No order is complete without a portion or 2 of samosas (both meat & veg are delicious), and I've recently become obsessed with the onion salad too! I just wish they did a chilli paneer dish. In fact, more paneer options in general would be great.

Lastly, on the 2 occasions I've had minor problems (once accidently ordering for collection instead of takeaway, and once missing a couple of items), the staff were very helpful and quick to rectify the issues. This and the quality of the food is why I keep coming back to them way more often...

It's been 4 days since I ordered here and I still can't believe how this place even has good reviews. I ordered a Paneer Massala and a Garlic Chicken Massala. I unfortunately had to throw the food away, that's how bad it was. My paneer Massala was a very strong tomato extract that was mixed with desiccated coconut which was all I could taste. The consistency was just off. The onion bahjis were very oily and disappointing. The only good thing was the Tarka Dal. This is not what I expect from an Indian restaurant at all. I don't know if it was a bad batch (of two different mains?!) - but I won't be ordering again...

Been a customer for many years and always enjoyed the food, I had ordered a month or so ago and I don't no what has happened to you guys the food was not nice at all, I left it a while then ordered tonight and I'm hugely disappointed the lamb in the dansak was so tough and full of fatty lumps we couldn't eat any of it, the butter chicken was tasteless the sheek kebab was so dry it left a sand like substance in the mouth, we paid nearly £34 for the bin to eat the meal, I very much doubt I'll be giving you...
