Jamaica Road Launderette — Local services in London

Rude elderly couple who run this launderette. Previously had stellar experience from a younger female member of staff, but the older couple are rude, grouchy and do not care about their customers.

Was told I cannot put a wash load on at 16:28, when it says the last washload is 90 mins before close. They have done this twice. They confirmed on the phone a close of 6PM.

DON'T ADVERTISE A LAST WASH TIME OF 90 MINS BEFORE CLOSE IF YOU DON'T ALLOW THIS.

I am a disabled person, and it is unacceptable that you've made me lug my clothes around twice and refused to allow me to wash them despite being within the designated times.

You confirmed the hours over the phone, but refused anyway. When challenged, the elderly staff became rude and hostile, glaring at me.

Do not recommend. I recommend Linsey Laundry about 10 mins away. Friendlier staff, cleaner premises, better prices, they accept card and are open later.

The employee i encountered on a sunday was helpful and polite, i had no problem with the customer service here. However, i will not be returning this launderette. 1) the hours posted on google are NOT ACCURATE! The last washer loads are at 4:30!! and they kick everyone out by 5:45. 2) VERY expensive!! Washers were £6 and up, dryers were minimum £4. 3) even for that price, the washers have minimal selection options (no way to modify cycle length or spin). 4) only one option for laundry detergent available for purchase here, no dryer sheets or other accesories offered. 5) cash only and minimal seating 6) NO WIFI!! They shut before the closing time on the door. As I walked in at 5.40 pm, the assistant saw me going straight to the dryer and nobody warned me about this change of closing time. Thinking I had an hour left I put my dryer for 40 minutes, they watched all along as I was inserting each coin (10 min each) and they could have stopped me at any moment but kept quiet instead. So later on they come to me and say they shut at six and that there is no way that I can get my money back for the 20 minutes left that I paid and wont be able to use because they changed the closing time to an hour earlier, without a sign or any warning.
