There is a lot to see. The Abbey ruins are interesting to look around and there are some information boards to explain the history. Don't miss the old mulberry tree and circular mosaic. There is beautiful small flower garden and also a varied Arboretum. The ancient woodland is well wiryh an explore too. There are wood carvings and some amazing old trees. Be aware some of the trails have some long, steep inclines which may be challenging for some and not suitable for wheelchairs.

From the beautiful gardens around the ruins of the Abbey to the fabulous woodland walk,a shear joy..we walked for 3 hours today listening to the sounds of nature and watching the birds and squirrels going about their business. A real jem of a place in South London..

These ancient woods offer cool shady relief on a hot sunny day. If it wasn't for the London parakeets and the views of Thamesmead from the edges you'd think you were out in the countryside.

Apparently the springtime flower display is wonderful. I'll be back for the daffodils and bluebells...
