I often think about the old-believers, those who saw the sign of the cross in the stars. Or the farmhands who, in 1066, observed Halley’s comet burn through the Saxon sky, shaking its skirt between the moon and stars, lighting the homesteads, donkey pens and sloping forests of old England, and knowing a new age had begun.

On the whole, I see little from above. Here the news is of nuclear annihilation, black box intelligence, where everything can be infinitely regressed, a world of averages and computed deviation, of prediction; in brief, a mean world. Yet I happen upon certain coincidences – what an awful, scientific word – that leave me convinced of meanings beyond human conceit.

You see, I remember in January, when I looked upon the Winter sky, I saw Orion imitate the curve of your hip. Yes, absurd, entirely absurd. But it was there, that gentle slope, just as clear as the cross for those early Christians, and I shook with the same reverence. I thought I might cry. Since I have seen the line of your lips on the rim of glass beakers, or noticed how the surface of a lake feels just like your skin, or how every pair of silvery feet, no matter if I am in Tokyo or Dublin, Cagliari or Kalamata, seem to morse-tap your fancy to me.

I have to shake these visions. Completely inappropriate for a man of my stature. I shouldn’t believe in the immaterial, but I might have to make an exception for you. How sad a world without you in it! But no, enough, enough of this. I’m going for a run. Get rid of these middling thoughts. I’ll run to London fields, see the loud girls with alien sunglasses. Until the next vision my dear.

EDIT - Is there a god? Have I...

London Fields Park is an excellent destination for dog owners looking for a spacious and vibrant environment. The park's expansive green areas provide ample space for dogs to run and play, making it a popular spot for local pet owners.

One of the park’s highlights for dogs is the designated off-leash area. This section allows your furry friends to roam freely and socialize with other dogs in a safe, fenced environment. The open lawns are perfect for playing fetch or simply letting your dog enjoy some exercise.

The park is well-maintained, with plenty of pathways and grassy areas for walks. There are also several benches and shaded spots where you can rest while your dog explores. Water fountains are available, though it’s a good idea to bring extra water and a bowl for your pet, especially on hot days.

The lively atmosphere of London Fields Park, with its diverse range of visitors and activities, adds to the park’s appeal. The vibrant community and bustling surroundings create a dynamic environment for both dogs and their owners.

Overall, London Fields Park is a great choice for dog owners seeking a spacious and engaging place for their pets. The combination of ample open space, a dedicated off-leash area, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a favorite among...
