Exercise caution with the medical needs advisor, Adam Ahmed, as he lacks qualifications but expressed strong opinions on my child's autism based on irrelevant observations, such as toys and iPads in my home. Nearly took them to court but the free legal aid solicitor I choose from Hackney legal centre in Clapton clearly wasn’t confident with pushing this case all the way to there end (Kevin long). You do not need there permission for cctv as its in home camera! (Check Google for more info on that) indoor cctv cost £40 on Amazon or even cheaper! But if you’re assigned to Adam Ahmed just know he isn’t going to ask about your medical issues he’s going to question you as if he’s trying to catch you out, make irrelevant suggestions such as home swap and private rent and write a report with false information and triggering comments such as “ my son has sleep issues due to playing on his iPad” something I have never told him, instead of acknowledging it’s due to my sons autism like I’ve stated this whole time this man saw my son on his iPad on his 44 minute visit and made things up. He also stated my son is dysregulated due to clutter in the home instead of acknowledging the fact my sons dysregulated due to the lack of space and loads of danger areas this man stated it’s because there’s clutter on the floor, by the way there was 3 toy trucks and some Lego, he was clutching at straws with the lies. The OT report home is risk of fatality due to low window sills etc when I gave that to Adam Ahmed and Hackney council they didn’t give a fuc* instead came here and lied! We knew we were number 1 on the bidding list, yet another family who arrived before us was allowed to view the property first. Despite our priority, our positions were unfairly switched, and we were pressured into accepting the offer.

The other family loved the flat and wanted it. We clearly expressed that the apartment was far too small and unsuitable for our family. During the process, the lettings team member told us not to say anything negative about the flat in front of the other family, which felt manipulative. They later falsely reported that we liked the flat, which was not true.

When we resisted accepting the property, we were threatened with being declared intentionally homeless. We felt trapped and coerced into accepting a home that does not meet our needs, while the other interested family was overlooked.

What made matters worse, during discussions, the lettings officer made xenophobic comments about my Nigerian citizenship and passport, implying I should feel lucky just to have been offered the property. This was deeply offensive and unacceptable.

Since moving in, life has been difficult. The flat is cramped and overcrowded — we even have to store food in the living room because of the lack of space.

When we formally complained, the council admitted the property is small but dismissively told us to “manage.” This shows a shocking lack of empathy and respect for vulnerable families.
