Mumbai Kitchen — Attraction in London

Come to this restaurant if you like being shouted at and getting the same curries with different labels!

We got our delivery 15 minutes after the maximum time and we live very close, so God knows how long everyone else's order was. This was on a Thursday, which is hardly peak time if you staff your kitchen properly.

My girlfriend ordered a vegetable curry and samba daal (lentils), but when they arrived they looked and tasted identical. Since we were confused we called the restaurant.

My girlfriend simply asked what the difference between the 2 items were. At which point, the man on the phone started shouting, saying "I PACKED THIS BAG MYSELF SO I KNOW WHAT YOU GOT", in a very defensive, angry tone, when all she did was ask a simple question.

At which point I intervened and asked him why he was shouting and to answer the questions. Suddenly, when a man started speaking he wasnt shouting anymore. He did so in a displeased manner, still insisting that we were incorrect. This went on for about 3-4 minutes, at which point we just gave up, because he wasn't agreeing with anything we were saying.

On top of that, the food was just OK, nothing special. The customer service was foul and down right rude.

I have worked in hospitality and customer facing roles for 5+ years, dealing with complaints, and I would never dream of berating a customer, let alone a one that had not even made a complaint yet!

This phone call was made at 9:30pm on the 4th of August. My advice to this person would be to hear customers out. Mistakes happen, we understand that. If he had maybe offered to get us the samba daal, or even gave us it the next time we ordered, that would have sufficed. You would have spent pennies on making a tiny portion and you would have a...

I used to use these guys for years but now they have really gone down hill. Ordered a meal at 1800 hrs on a Saturday (so not peak time, they open at 17:30) it took 1hr 45 mins to arrive despite being lied to about it being on route for 45 mins. When it arrived it was cold and all 8 popadoms tasted of rancid fat. I problem I have complained about many times. These went straight in the bin with the stale Diet Coke. I phoned up to complain and got the busy stock rubbish answer of really sorry, really busy. Don’t bother with these clowns. If you want an Indian go to your local restaurant, have a nice sit down. If I could put 0, I would. This place is very dodgy. The wanted to order the meal which came up to £10. The owner who was serving said he doest accept card because he would have to pay taxes. I didn’t have cash and only apple pay on me. So I said, in that case I will order it on Just Eat. The owner said that he will cancel the order. And then he told me to go to the indian across the road. Wow, amazing customer service NOT. If you want to loose customers very quickly, you will. Avoid this place. I will be reporting them to HMRC for tax avoidance and Just Eat for what they said...
