Olympia Hammersmith Review – London Book Fair 2025.
Olympia is a fantastic venue in terms of location, but its connectivity to tube and train stations leaves much to be desired. While the Overground station is conveniently located right opposite, it was disappointingly closed on a weekday during my visit, making access slightly inconvenient.
Once inside, the arrangements were excellent. From security to the ‘Ask Me’ volunteers, entry was smooth and well-organized. The venue seems to have multiple entrances/exits, which helps with crowd flow. The space itself is massive, so wearing comfortable, walkable shoes is a must.
The temperature inside was well-regulated—not too hot, not too cold—making it a comfortable environment for a long event. However, the biggest downside was the food pricing. A burger with a handful of chips for £15 felt excessive. If you're attending an event here, bringing your own packed meal or stepping out for a more reasonably priced option is a smart move.
Another thing to keep in mind is parking—there are no cheap options nearby. If you're driving, be prepared for high parking fees. Public transport, especially buses, is a better alternative, but make sure to allocate extra time for travel.
Overall, a great venue with good event management, but accessibility and food pricing could use some...
Read moreThis is my first time back at Olympia London for 3 years since the Pandemic. The last time I went there was back in July in 2019. The event I go there at Olympia London is London Film and Comic Con and it's so popular. Mostly everyone who attends the event comes in Cosplay or other words, they come dressed up in costume as their favourite character in film and television from a certain comic book, Sci-Fi, Wizardry, Disney or video game series. For me myself, I come dressed as a Jedi because I'm a huge Star Wars fan. It's fun to meet other people dressed as their favourite Star Wars Charcter especially people dressed Obi Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Aayla Secura, Rey Skywalker, Luke Skywalker Han Solo, Chewbacca, Padme Amidala, Din Jarin, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Cad Bane and Boba Fett. But just to point you out there, bring your own food when you come because the food at the outlets are ridiculously overpriced.
Overall, the I recommend going to this venue for your favourite event and the transport links are very good because the venue sits right next to Kensington Olympia Station which has connections to the London Underground District Line (Which runs to Kensington Olympia from High Street Kensington on Weekends) and London Overground West London Line which...

The whole event was really well organised and there were no hold ups getting in. This helped by us getting the diamond passes the day before. This was a really was a good idea by the organisers.
As usual there were a lot of big names there so there were lots of great people walking round dressed as their hero’s. it never fails to amaze me the details everyone goes to to match their particular idol. Everyone deserves a bow for this as it makes the whole day a great experience.
It was a bit hot in the halls but it is July so it is what to be expected. We met Bernard Cribbins and what a gent he is, he was there with his wife and was very popular.
There was a cool silent auction for some great collectible items, I was lucky to win two of these so this was a bonus to the day.
Everyone was chilled and security were helpful along with the staff. Considering all the staff are volunteers they do a great job dealing with so many people in a friendly manner.
I would recommend anyone to visit this event at Olympia as there is plenty of space and the architecture of the building is still a...
