I had lunch with a colleague at this place located in Hammersmith. The seating is fairly ample, and they have a variety of dishes on the menu. We noticed they offered ramen, so we decided to try the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen. For drinks, I ordered a matcha latte. Unfortunately, it was extremely sweet and tasted only of milk, with no matcha flavor. When I mentioned this to the staff, they kindly offered to replace it, and the new one was much better. Now onto the main dish - the ramen. The soup base was strange, and the noodles were overcooked and lacking texture, making it quite unenjoyable. To our surprise, the Tonkatsu we ordered wasn’t even pork; it turned out to be turkey. When we inquired, the staff confirmed they do not offer pork, which is extremely misleading. In Japanese, "トンカツ" (Tonkatsu) specifically refers to a breaded and deep-fried pork cutlet. This misrepresentation is confusing for customers and should be corrected on the menu. The staff seemed speechless and quickly walked away, leaving us frustrated. I only took a few bites of the ramen, as the turkey was also unappetizing. Overall, it was a disappointing lunch experience, prompting me to write this review. We won’t...
Read moreWe used a groupon to be able to visit Express-Mo for a sushi platter. After arriving there and waiting for nearly 20 minutes we were given a plate of what I was certain was an collection of springrolls from iceland platter that was just re-heated.
Additionally the only sushi that we had we needed to buy ourselves separately from the groupon order.
After checking my local Iceland a few days later, I found that the spring rolls looked and tasted the same.
I was only able to have only a couple of bites before feeling a bit sick of it afterwards.
Prior to ordering, when the rest of us were finding parking we asked if we can take-away the order. However the staff told us that they needed to charge us an additional £10 to do so. Which is odd as the platter we were given was served in a lid-less large takeaway platter on some very...
Read moreThe food here was good quality when I came for lunch, but really what caught my attention is that a homeless man came into the cafe begging for food and the cafe owner spoke to him like a decent human being even though you could see the man had very low self-esteem in the way he carried himself. I saw the owner cook and then give him some hot food and drink outside - what a legend and a top boss man. I've already arranged with a friend to come back for lunch here as the smoothies are quite good too and wanted to try some other dishes that neighbouring tables were eating which...
