Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place at all. The service is very slow and in the end they turned out to be incredibly rude. The food is definitely average at best and here I agree with other reviews as well as it being overpriced (you definitely pay for their location near Kensington). I was also served the wrong kind of rice and it was also ice cold. We were in a rush so I couldn't take the time to have it exchanged. I think ice cold food is unacceptable. Considering that rice is one of the cheapest side dishes of all time (no, I did not order with saffron), 5 £ is a considerable amount to charge on top of the main dish, then being served ice cold, that's just cheeky.
The portions are ok for a lady. A man might find them too small.
It took quite some time to serve the food (which I normally don't comment on if the quality of the food is representing this time invested). But they also took like 15min from asking for the bill until it came. Everyone who's worked in hospitality knows that it should not take more than 5min. Considering the number of tables and the number of available servers this wasn't a good performance.
The waiter didn't seem very friendly or hospitable but this wasn't a problem until the end. My focus is having a meal, so I normally don't need intense interaction with the waiter. But what really frustrated me and actually made me write this review in the first place was that I had mentioned that me and the person I was with had dietary requirements, which was why we didn't want any dessert. It was pretty easy and not complicated. This was not about changing any dishes or allergies or anything of that kind. It was simply the answer "no" to being offered dessert. The waiters response was "oh, but do you also go to the gym? Or do you just do the diet?". I did not respond as I didn't think this was anyone's business what I do with my body. He asked again "Do you move your body?" I know that I am not the skinniest person, but the smirk in this waiters face with the sarcastic tone was unmistakably condescending and disrespectful. It is absolutely inappropriate to shame an overweight person when they decline dessert. Everyone is different. And if anything, overweight people bring business to your restaurant. I don't need to explain my diet or how I move or justify if I move... In hospitality the most important thing is to be nice to your customer. This is literally the definition of hospitality. Sarcasm, smirks and inappropriate questions are displaced here. I felt very insulted. Again, I didn't give them a hard day, I never asked for changes in the dish, I only declined dessert when offered and I ate my cold rice with the average tasting, overpriced main in silence. I wouldn't have bothered to write this as slow service and average food isn't the end of the world. But insulting a paying customer is indeed awful. If it had happened in the beginning, I would have left straight away without buying any of their food. Horrible behavior, had not happened to me ever before. And just to avoid any doubts: I was definitely here in this place as I have the card payment. This is not a mixup and someone was with me the whole time. This wasn't a subjective "interpretation" of a situation. It was definitely...
Read moreCame here after working a long day at the Excel centre over the road. After reading the reviews I had high hopes, but sadly were very disappointed.
Miran doesn’t serve alcohol so we picked up some beer on the way which really was no problem.
However, from that point downwards it was just awful apart from the garlic naan was very good. Very flavourful, thin and crisp the way it should be.
But, really the rest was below average. The sauces served with poppadoms were sugary and cheap and lastly the 2 chicken jalfrazis were so so SO salty. Unacceptably so - if we weren’t so tired from a days work over the road We would’ve sent them back. The chicken pieces were also very small, clearly very cheap off cuts of meat.
Lastly, it was snowing outside, and quite frankly the restaurant was too cold, so much so my dining partner sat in his coat throughout.
Upon paying, I wasn’t asked how our meal was, so I mentioned the mains were unacceptably salty. To which one the gentlemen at the counter strangely mumbled something and pointed to the kitchen. The other gentleman said “oh sorry about that, do you want a free dessert”.
Clearly not, the only think we wanted to do was leave and warm up in the taxi(!)
Wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreI can happily recommend this place! The service was relaxed and we were never rushed, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal and the atmosphere. The location near Kensington is wonderful, and you really do get to enjoy the benefit of dining in such a great spot.
The food was served with generous portions — perfect for a lady, and still a good size for a man with a hearty appetite. The dishes were presented well, and even something as simple as rice is thoughtfully included on the menu. At £5, it shows the attention they put into every side dish, elevating it beyond the ordinary.
The team gave us plenty of space and never hovered, which I personally prefer as I like to focus on my meal. At the end, our server even showed a sense of humor and engaged with us in a lighthearted way about dessert and lifestyle choices. It was a reminder that they see customers as people, not just orders at a table, and I appreciated the personal interaction.
Overall, this restaurant combines a fantastic location with good food and a casual, unhurried dining experience. For anyone who enjoys a relaxed pace and personable staff, this is a place...
