Albertini Restaurant — Restaurant in London

This review is not about the food quality itself, but about the customer service. Me and my friends intended to go to this restaurant because the rating seemed good and the food pictures looked appealing. We were unsure if the food was labelled as halal but we just needed clarification. So we decided to call in to double check that this was the case. A lady answered the phone and I asked the question of if the food was halal to which she replied with "what's halal", which is quite frankly embarassing for someone that works in food to not know what that is. Then she said "oh you are one of those Muslims?" In a very degrading tone of voice and she further went on to say "if you're a Muslim, then you should eat somewhere else because us Italians do not like you". I think this is extremely dehumanising and honestly disgusting to treat people like this and to directly tell me you do not like me because of my faith, I felt extremely unwelcome and that lady is giving me the impression that this restaurant happily discriminates against its customers and that they would actively ruin the experience of their Muslim customers with a smile on their face. Maybe that one individual lady on the phone was racist but it's a reflection on the restaurant itself and I would highly advise that all Muslims go elsewhere as we are not welcome. I have been to several restaurants and never have I been treated with such disrespect before even entering the restaurant. It is appauling and anyone that still holds beliefs like this should not be serving the public as they do not welcome the public as a whole. If this is the views of the restaurant then I urge people to go elsewhere as this conversation disgusted me and made me avoid this place and I will never step foot here. DISSAPOINTING

The place looks great, good menu, great location, friendly staff and most the food looks good. However we were definitely let down. The quality of the food was not there, food seems to have been pre prepared (an insult with Italian food). We just kept getting let down throughout the evening.. we ordered calzones which looked good but weren’t served with tomato sauce as it traditionally should.. when we asked for tomato sauce to our absolute dismay we were given a pot of KETCHUP!! We presumed it must of been a mistake but when we enquired we found out that the ketchup was the only tomato sauce in the whole restaurant which is quite frankly disgusting.. The hollandianse sauce served with the salmon was clearly just butter and mayoniase and did not taste like hollandiase at all.. To top things off we were sat outside and were persistantly harassed by beggars (some of who clearly were not homeless). Things like this can’t be helped but the thing was the staff done NOTHING to relieve the situation. Many waitors walked by and ignored us while we were being harassed for money while we were trying to enjoy dinner, as well as the manager who stood by and watched while this guy wouldn’t leave us alone. When one of the beggars finally left us to go annoy another table the manager then came over and asked if we were ok.. we said no we were being harassed and you did nothing to help, now another table is being harassed and you are still doing nothing.
