Sadly I was made to feel pretty uncomfortable. It is such a shame as I would have left this evening thinking the place was somewhere that I would come back to when I am working in the area (which is often). When I arrived I was told that I could have a table for an hour, this was totally fine by me and not a problem. I was given a small table near other diners, there was a lovely atmosphere, I ordered wine and food, got out my book and started to relax. After about 15-20 minutes just as my food was about to arrive, I was approached by a member of staff and asked to move as they had a request for an unexpected booking for three and wanted to use my table and the one next to it, I was really thrown by this but initially agreed. I felt very embarrassed and actually quite upset but did not want to be difficult or stand out as I was a woman sitting alone. I was taken to a small table next to the open kitchen door away from other diners. I felt really upset at this point and said that I would rather leave and would not have chosen to sit here. They took me back to my original table and by this point I felt so out of place it was awful. Thankfully the other diners were lovely and checked in on me and asked me what was happening as I had been moved back and forth and was clearly distressed. There was no real apology or appreciation of the fact that I was already at the table with a drink and food ordered, all they were bothered about was fitting in more people. At the end of the meal when I got the bill the restaurant had added a 12.5% service charge, I asked for this to be removed as I did not think that it was warranted having been moved, made to feel embarrassed and with no real apology for the inconvenience or appreciation of the fact that like other people I was paying to eat there. In a different situation I would have commented on the fact that the food was good but I was so self conscious by this point that I left a lot of it and just...

I’d like the manager to read this complaint as you need to amend your ill mistake.

On 6th June 2024, I had booked a reservation for 5 people including a 4 month baby. Our booking was 10PM(as OPTION WAS CLEARLY GIVEN TO US ON YOUR WEBSITE.) we drove all the way from east London in the traffic and heat at 9:30pm with a 4 month old only to be told by one of your Indian male staff standing outside that the kitchen is closed at 10pm so we can’t be let in. How absurd and disgusting. I’ve come to yatri before hence why I recommended it to my friends who put their trust and time in my opinion in the restaurant (which I’ll never re-enter mark my words.) If your damn kitchen is closed at 10pm WHY WOULD YOU ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO HAVE THIS OPTION ON YOUR WEBSITE. He told me he tried to call me (literally only called me once and thought whatever I called once I don’t need to catch up with them again) what damn nonsense? Hungry, cold with a baby and a car full of people travelling from the the end of London only To be told on the spot kitchen is closed sorry’ well I’m sorry NOT sorry for giving u a one star, if I could I’d give you minus. Even worse for your staff service who didn’t think best of contacting me a couple of times or leaving a message.

You’re a complete disappointment yatri. I had high hopes as I’ve been here before and more so the people with me that never came here had even higher hopes.

I want you to remove your “10pm” mark if your kitchen is “closed” Don’t make people burn their petrol and waste their precious time by having them select that option in the first place. at the end of the day it’s our loss NOT yours...

First thing to say is I’m Indian and have great expectations from any Indian restaurants. I’ve been to many and have enjoyed great food. The problem is , the good ones use ingredients that will leave your digestive system in distress over the next day or two. This restaurant served very nice food but admittedly I had better. I have to take my hat off to the chefs at this restaurant for cooking food closer to home made as they’ve used the right amount of spices and ones that won’t leave you walking like a penguin. The staff are very friendly but you have to get to know them. I’ve made jokes but unfortunately they don’t always appreciate them or understand them as most have travelled from mother indian. On the other hand maybe my humour is poor. Ive been here two times already in 2 weeks. It’s been amazing both times and to give credit to the food, it didn’t feel bad the next day. Starters were great as well as the mains. Garlic nans were just right. I’ve seen some unfair reviews by some people saying over priced, not tasty, under spiced , bad service. Some people are hard to please. Price was good, service was great ( make the effort to know the staff) . We even had dessert and I wasn’t offended they asked. Nothing worse than not asking. Remember also you have a 90 minute window to eat. These guys need to make profit as the location is central and rates and rents are high. Give them support and be fair with your comments. They work hard and deserve respect. I’ve booked a party of 10 people next week again as I have faith in their food, service and atmosphere ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️. Keep your chins up and continue your...

This was the first restaurant we tried in the UK. It had very good reviews due to which we went to this restaurant. But for me this is a overrated restaurant. I will go through the dishes we ordered and also say why I have this opinion. We ordered 1. Dhaniya Adaraki Champ (Lamb That you see in the picture) 2 Fish tandoori 3 FRIED RICE 4 butter roti 5 Railway chicken curry Dhaniya Adaraki Champ - This was kind of good but it was too dry and burned and had very little meat. Quantity is also a problem with this. The 2 star is for this dish. Fish Tandoori - The fish looked Good but it had a bad taste. The one that is there when it is not cleaned properly. Some people do not have a problem with it. But, if are one of them who have an issue then do not order. Fried Rice - As you can see in the picture it is not fried rice it is fried Pulav. If they had served it as Pulav it would have been good. No complain from a Pulav perspective but this not what we ordered. Railway chicken curry - I think there is an obsession of UK people with butter chicken. So any chicken dish no matter what the description says taste like butter chicken. This was no exception just without butter. The worst part you can see a small rectangle thing in the picture. it seems like a baking bowl which lost its non stick coating. They served roti in this one. Don’t know how many people know how bad it is to use these non-sticks after the non-stick coating starts to peel off.

After a long flight and meetings to drive me crazy, needed comfort food and found it! Two days prior had such clogging curry that I wondered if I wanted to chance it again. Boy was it with it! Started with the lamb somosa and they were little pockets of delight served on a bed of cabbage salad with onions. For the main, chose to have their curry special Railway Chicken Curry with Garlic Chili Naan. I am sorry that there were no picture of the food, but trust me, it was magical. The Naan was perfect and not overly spicy not overpowering with the garlic. The chicken curry is one to try. Think a very civilized yellow chicken Thai curry or massam with out the sourness (not to say it is bad) of the citronella. The curry was at times sweet and tender due to the spices such as mustard seeds. The potatoes and boiled egg were a great addition. I could have gone a little bit hot with spicy 🌶️ peppers, but all o was tempted to do was addd the Red Onion Lacoha salad. Let’s just say, I have to return so I can grab new pictures, but most of all to try some of the other dishes. Next time not coming solo so I can taste more than two dishes!

Came here for my fiancé’s birthday and when we were arrived we were given the option of sitting outside or inside - due to it being quite hot and more crowded outside we opted for a table indoors. They got a lot more busy after we settled down with most tables taken up so we were glad we booked in advance! Despite this, the service was very speedy but we did not feel rushed and the waiter was friendly and took the time to recommend me a dish when I asked. We were offered poppadoms to start with a range of sauces, which we accepted and were nice but we hadn’t realised were priced at £5. For mains we had chicken tikka makhani and lamb hari mirch. Both curries were very tasty, flavourful sauces, good portion sizes and juicy meat. We also got Jeera rice and butter naans which were nice complements to soak up all the sauce of the curries. During our meal, when busy they still came to replace the glasses of water with fresh full ones without us needing to ask. Very reasonably priced with the food and one soft drink with the 12.5% service charge totalling a little under £50.
