West Ham Fish And Chips — Attraction in London

These guys are the real deal. My husband and I traveled to London recently and were lucky enough to be staying just a short walk away from West Ham Fish & Chips. Everyone was welcoming, kind, and truly joyful to be around. Very quickly we recognized this was a place to visit often. We tried to sample something different on each visit, making our way through the fish & chips, doner, pies, and sides.

The fish is expertly battered and served steaming hot right out of the fryer. Cooked through perfectly, flaky and juicy, this is the best fish we had the whole trip. The chips are a great thickness and seasoned just right. The house tartar sauce is literally the best I've ever tried. It captures all the best flavors of tartar sauce without being too tart of overpowering. The same with the house garlic mayo. Everything was light, but so flavorful. We walked away feeling full and satisfied, but not heavy.

The doner? Delightful. So tender and juicy, and perfectly spiced. This was the first time we'd had real doner (compared to what we thought were some pretty good gyros in Chicagoland), and were blown out of the water.

Lamb kofte kebab, small chips & Diet Coke. £11 Perfectly cooked by friendly staff, fair sized portion (filled my plate & me!) clean restaurant, small green chillis pack a punch! Good value for money. I recently visited a kebab shop and was blown away by the deliciousness of the food. The kebabs were expertly grilled and the meats were incredibly tender and juicy. The vegetables were fresh and added the perfect crunch to each bite. The sauces were also top-notch and added an extra layer of flavor to the kebabs.
