This is a lovely walk as part of the Bollin Way Valley trail. There is a free carpark with amenities like toilets. A great place to walk the dog. There is a mixture of woodland trails and open fields. (Which can get very muddy) Sometimes you'll see roaming cattle. There is a designated path for those wanting to walk a shorter loop.

Perfect for a dog walk with safe access to water. Parking a little limited but there are two small car parks. Before our visit I read a review saying the toilets were often open and on our bank holiday monday visit they were! Fantastic 👏 Top marks for whoever manages these. 👍 Brilliant doggie walking spot. 👍

A well maintained country park. There is a mix of proper paths and ‘off-roading’ - probably 10-15 mins of walk proper path, suitable for prams etc. If you have a decent stroller, you can go further. We parked in Macclesfield then walked nearly to Prestbury. Mix of path/grass but my mid-range pram managed fine.

Lots of dog poo on the path. Very busy. Good parking with better than expected toilets. Very well maintained. Some nice plants and features along the way. Why three stars and not four? Well as a place where young children are taken there was far too much dog mess, and as a place for grown ups there is very little of interest there. The river has no meandering and its banks are overgrown. The main path is dead straight following the railway, and most dogs...

Riverside park is a little oasis of calm just next to town. The Bollin flows alongside the pathway and field walks and on this section you can walk from Macclesfield to Prestbury. It is very popular with dog walkers and runners ( me included ) and is fabulous for spotting heron, buzzards and kingfishers. April to November has long horn cattle freely grazing there too....
