We checked in eventually after the Manager finished speaking with her colleague not even a hello or sorry for the wait, I just finished up having stomach surgery and am walking with an aid so to ignore us and leave us there for a good 5 minutes while gossiping was rude and not off to a great start. We noticed how warm it was in reception and when we checked into our room which for some stupid reason they decided to allocate us on the third floor with access to the room by steps, no lift directly to the room. Not great when you’re disabled and prior to booking asked for a room with easy access. When we got to the room it was 23.3 degrees, it said on the monitor no room will go above 22 degrees, so we called reception no answer, my husband went downstairs, at this point I nearly fainted and the said they could provide us with a fan, I asked the young employee with brought the extra fan to the room if the air conditioning was broken to which he said yes it may be a while before it fixed. When I did manage to speak to the manager she lied and said it would take an hour to fix and that no room was above the temperature of 22 degrees again another lie. We moved rooms and sadly this second room was even hotter 25 degrees, I explained to the manager after surgery it’s dangerous for me to get overheated as I could end up back in hospital. When I say there was no compassion, understanding or customer or duty of care / welfare is quite frankly an understatement. Her words to my husband were well we have to work in this heat so it’s no different, at this point I lost my cool and shown her my fresh surgery bandages and informed her this is making me ill, and that I don’t walk with an aid for giggles. Then and only then did she agree to refund us but by doing so tutted and said we don’t normally do this. I snapped at her and informed her that she needed compassion and was leading her team in the most unprofessional manner. As a manager you should always lead the team by example. Only example she set was how to put Vicky Pollard in charge. Disgusting behaviour on her part and while greatful to of received our refund the discrimination she caused was not acceptable. Her other receptionist had the nerve to say you don’t look ill. I’m sorry should I wear my tumour on show you know the one that was just cut out of me. Again disappointed, lack of compassion, understanding and duty of care, please avoid more so if you suffer from any disability. What I don’t understand is the manager was black and I’m sure she would soon speak up on anyone using any racist slurs and rightfully so, but why would she find it acceptable to discriminate against a disabled person. Colour, sexuality, gender, race, disability. There are all discrimination and you simply can’t pick and choose between them. However is her boss needs to let her go and the rude receptionist she was working with on duty, due to her comments. Clearly the manager is simply not ready to take on the responsibility and more so her bad leadership will sadly lead many of the staff along her path of bad habits. As we already witnessed when she laughed when her colleague commented on myself not looking disabled. Why would you want anyone as the first face you see representing that company to allow the message of discrimination to be ok in any so called professional setting. Avoid this place at all costs until the management and staff have had the correct training under a new management team who use common sense.
Update - Outcome of it all we got a full refund which we have acknowledged and been grateful for but as for the investigation it ended with Mark calling us by the incorrect surname and that while mistakes were made and the situation could of been handled better, in his words there was no discrimination. I mean draw your own conclusions if they can’t get a surname right how good an investigation was it. They are also trying to get this and any review taken down by claiming were discriminating by reporting discrimination it...
Read moreWe booked a Grande Studio that was specifically described as offering a landmark view. However, the room we were given had no view at all, just an internal roof and absolutely filthy windows, see pics. This is a clear case of false advertising. To add to the confusion, the room had a sofa bed already made up on arrival, strongly suggesting it had been prepared for different guests or was not ready for us. We had to fold the bed away ourselves to make use of the space, which is completely unacceptable for a pre-booked, higher-tier room. I also cleaned under the sofa for you, the dust and food waste cleaning was not on my bingo card this weekend. I chose not to raise this at the time because the trip was a surprise for my husband's birthday, and I didn't want to spoil the occasion. It was better he was oblivious to my disappointment. However, this does not excuse the failure to provide the standard of room we paid for. Unfortunately I couldn't keep what happened next from him. The check-in experience was appalling. We arrived at 12pm to drop our bags off as pre arranged on the booking.com App and were told by the receptionist that we could check in at 1pm for a £10 early check-in fee. On her word, we went food shopping, expecting to store our perishable groceries once we got into the room in the fridge on the hottest day of the year. When we returned at lpm, she completely denied ever saying this. She did this in front of other guests and her colleague, effectively accusing us of lying. This was deeply unprofessional, humiliating, and completely undermined us. She went as far to say l offered you complementary early check-in but we just couldn't get it ready, not even an apology. She basically shooed us away and ended the conversation, the young gentleman working along side her even looked uncomfortable with her behaviour. For the price we paid for 2 nights I really am shocked on our treatment at this hotel. I have sent an email to Roomzzz Victoria and to their coperate email, will update...

We call reception from the room the guy seemed not to care but when i went down next he said he was new and he seemed to try his best poor lad but said oh something bout maintenance and how it wasnt meant to effect our room. We take the treck down get new keys. The new room is far far away awful views but unclean ill include photos. Used bed make up and used toiletries everywhere. I go down again and when i say its a long way from reception i mean it get a new room and this new room has all plugs pulled eg the tv not connected and its in this pipe thing which took us a while also no Internet connection works there so no point in saying free wifi also the windows are so high off the ground unless you are about 5 foot 10 you wouldnt be able to see anything and i mean anything out of that window.
