A huge public event was being held when we visited East Court Mansion to see the Millennium Stone. This now has an information board about its creation. Interesting to note that it is also a Geocache 'Earthcache' which bears the inscription, "This stone is not only a monument to the Year 2000 but also a tribute to the town's people, particularly our children, and a reminder that they are our future. It is here to be enjoyed, touched and worn away by human contact. I hope it will transform as a result of our existence....
