The starters were nice. There was plenty of houmous, bread and olives. The salt and pepper squid was quite nice, I thought it was a little chewy but my sister liked it still. The halloumi was tasty (though it had cooled down already when we got it so it was very squeaky - but I love the taste of halloumi so much that that doesn't stop me haha). The chocolate milkshake I think is made from chocolate syrup, definitely not from real chocolate, it tasted kind of powdery and fake. The strawberry milkshake I would assume is made the same way, with some kind of syrup but tasted ok, albeit very sweet. The vanilla milkshake was very tasty and refreshing (although my mum said it tasted very sweet - but that's what I thought of the strawberry! So as always I guess it's also your preference). The bbq pork ribs were decent, tender, though me and my dad thought they were a little tasteless tbh. The veggie burger was a good flavour but mum felt like it tasted very fried/oily, it looked quite heavily breaded so it could have been from that. My mum also doesn't have fried a lot though so with the chips it could have just been more oil than she's used to. The rump steak had a lovely flavour, the bourbon sauce was delicious, but disappointingly the steak was almost cold when given to me. Yet the chips and the sauce was piping hot. The steak had obviously been sitting for some time. And sadly the waiter didn't seem to know what to say and only offered for them to stick it back on the heat to warm it up, which would risk over cooking it for starters. I should've asked for a fresh one, as my parents pointed out - steaks aren't cheap, but I'm awkward with these kinds of things, plus everyone was almost halfway finished so I just agreed, and it came back barely hotter :') it's a real shame because I could tell it was cooked nicely and tasted nice (obviously would've have tasted a lot nicer hot and fresh), just so disappointing that it was almost cold. Also, might be worth to note, the music was mostly heavy base and fairly loud, especially if it's busy. Me and my sister didn't really mind but it was a bit much for my parents. Ultimately though, it was a decent evening out with just a few disappointments. I also really liked that their menus had the temperature and description of how well cooked you'd like the steaks and the different steaks had what level is recommended for each of them.

Food presentation, flavour and prices were good. Actually in this first visit everything was pretty on point! The experience as a whole was just slightly let down by some strange staff. I asked one staff member a question but she just walked away not even acknowledging the question. Maybe she didn't think I was talking to her, although it was quite obvious as I was looking directly at her face while speaking 📢. Some of the other staff were a bit disinterested and didn't really show much flair or character when serving ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ to be honest it just looked like they really didn't want to be there. All that said, we're happy to come back again and give this place another shot. It's got a lot going for it. Plus it's understandable that some staff will occasionally have off days, so looking forward to seeing how the second visit turns out. Stay tuned!

We were greeted by a long wait for a reserved table that wasn’t even prepared for us. Once sat, we found dirty glasses with water that had floating dirt and a leaf… We ordered the calamari starter and found it to be cold, and a surprisingly small portion for the extortionate price. For the drinks, we both ordered gin and lemonade, yet we were given tonic. For the main we ordered the sirloin steak, my partner ordered the 14oz and I ordered the 10oz. Each of us had different sides, the wrong sizes arrived at the table with the incorrect sides given to each portion. Found some staff members to be inattentive, whilst others were polite and provided excellent service. Overall, wouldn’t recommend, and definitely won’t be going again. The whole meal cost over £100, for something id expect at weatherspoons. Throughly disappointed with my visit

Edit Dec 2021 Family lunch - good size portions and reasonably quick service considering how busy it was. London rd burger a real tasty feast in a bun! Chicken bacon avocado burger was a bit bland. Kids food good quality and reasonably priced. Dissapointing that covid/hygiene precautions inconsistent, lady servers wearing masks, two guys not wearing them and one serving us handed some cutlery out holding the end that would go in my mouth. That aside as I think nowhere is doing it perfectly, the food is good and service friendly and we will no doubt be back again.

Should add also went in Nov 2021 for an evening meal. Lovely steak! Good food, friendly service then too (although felt a little in your face with inconsistent mask wearing and leaning over tables etc, not worthy of a comment pre covid).

2019 - Smart bar and restaurant. We went in a bit after 5pm on Saturday for a drink and snack after shopping, tables were already set for evening diners so the family had to sit on stools at bar/ one of the high tables, understandable it becomes more of a restaurant in the evening but it seemed a bit early to not let us sit at proper table, maybe we would have had a full meal afterall. Definitely will go back for a proper meal at some point though, friendly staff, chic decor and based solely on the meze platter we had food...

Really terrible food and terrible muddled service. I went with my husband and his family for lunch, I had the fish and chips and the batter was like cake batter cloaking overcooked fish and completely soggy my husband's carbonara was basically plain spaghetti, tiny flecks of bacon and a teaspoon of cream, completely tasteless. The waitress kept taking our food to another table by mistake, left it there for a few minutes and then realised it was ours and would take it off the customer and give it to us. I asked the waitress if she had just given us the food from another customer's table (as she may not know if they had starting eating it or not) and the waitress didn't seem to care. One of our orders never arrived with our mains, a garlic bread side which we had to keep asking for and then it arrived five minutes after we had finished eating our mains, we asked for the order to be cancelled. When the bill came they hadn't even been observant and taken off the cancelled dish. On a positive note they didn't charge service charge so you didn't have to have the awkward conversation of why you weren't paying it. First visit here and definitely the last, the whole experience seriously deserves negative stars, there are so many better restaurants in...
