Well what can I say, this has to be the most individual underground bar in east grinstead, serving local craft ales at a price that won't break the bank, in a setting that affords you and your group a little privacy whilst enjoying your tipple of choice.
The seating areas give a feeling of home comfort, there is one main room with long bench style seating and some chairs and tables, a further two rooms with sofas, chairs and tables.
My group of 5 were all in agreement, the engine room is simply somewhere you have to experience when deciding where to socialise with your friends, if your a cider fan and not into craft ales, don't worry a pint of mothership really hits the refreshing notes that only a pint of cider can provide, and if your peckish you can always try the beer...

Sarah behind the bar with a group of very friendly Friday locals - snacks on the bar as well. Tapas with drinks on Sundays. Downstairs with lots if small little cubby holes to drink in. Beer flights available and extremely dog friendly with water and biscuits provided. What's not to love. Great selection on cask beers with lager and cider as well. Plus wine and local...

Also the white wine is always really cold, which doesn't seem to be a given in all pubs! There's a nice little quiz that runs one Thursday a month. There's a gin night too, and they also offer a beer and cider takeout service with containers of various sizes. Not sure about disabled access because it's up a steep slope and steps, but there may be alternative access. No food offer, but a fair selection...
