Monsoon Majestic Indian Dining — Restaurant in Newcastle-under-Lyme

We were in Newcastle under Lyme for a family event. We decided to go for an Indian meal and found this beautiful place with the help of google maps and trip advisor. Indian Cuisine is my absolute favourite food and we will almost always take a curry in on our travels. The Monsoon Majestic Tandoori met all of our expectations, clean, a good amount of people sitting eating when we arrived at 06.15m early evening, cold crisp Cobra beer on draft, polite attentive staff and exceptional food.

We started off with obligatory poppadoms, sauces and pickles, the spicy onions were amazing and worth a mention on their own. Our starters consisted of Onion Bhajia for me and Bhuna Prawn on Puri for my wife. Wonderful starters with both plates cleared. The onion bhajias were crisp without being doughy or overdone.

Main courses of Chicken Tikka Madras and a Chicken Tikka Massala Balti accompanied by pilau rice, mushroom pilau, cauliflower Bhajia, chips and a garlic Nan bread. The main course food selection was incredibly delicious and again all plates were cleared. Table waiters were always on hand to ensure our Cobra glasses were replenished in a timely manner.

The Manager came over for a chat and was a lovely gentleman who had amazing knowledge of the Indian Food industry. I was telling him that through work and holidays we have travelled the world extensively and eaten in some fantastic Indian Restaurants and the Monsoon Majestic Tandoori was up in my top 5.

Any negatives? Frozen Chips is all, why not proper chips to accompany the magnificent food they serve. This is just a personal preference of mine and certainly doesn’t detract that this is a top class restaurant.

If I won the lottery I would buy it and move it all up to North Shields along with all the staff and eat there every day.

If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be visiting again.

WOW ! What can I say! I cannot believe what has just happened. After seeing my review, the lovely Manager Shim from Monsoon Majestic rang me personally to apologise for how our night ended. He was so apologetic and genuinely upset about how we had felt on leaving. He was so polite and professional, taking personal interest in what I had to say and actually listened to what I said to him. What a fabulous business to actually talk to their customers and do what they can to fix the issues. Thank you so much Shim for taking the time to reach out to me. As stated before we will definitely be back again! Absolutely outstanding. If I could give a rating of 10 I would!

Perfect!

We came to celebrate my mother's birthday last night. Everything was stunning, the food was absolutely delicious. It was very busy but even so, the food came out at a reasonable time and we we weren't left waiting. After we had eaten, they bought out my mothers cake and brought us plates and a cake knife. If it was just this, it would have been 5 stars! However after we had paid the bill, the staff then starting hovering over our table waiting for us to leave. We were a big party some people still had their drinks. A server came over and then said I do have another booking in a minute. He then came over again gesturing for us to leave at which point I explained that there were still guests finishing their drinks and as soon as they were done we would then leave. We had had such a nice time and experience but felt as soon as they had been paid we were then just a bother. It really took the shine...

We had a family meal at the restaurant this week for my mum and my aunties 60th birthday there was nearly 40 of us so a large booking and a lot of money spent at the restaurant.

Poor attitude from all staff especially the waiter they had 1 man taking orders for everyone and he was very blunt and did not have good customer service.

Staff need training on how to deal with customers and have good customer service because it was very poor and rude and not friendly it ruined the meal.

Also the food wasn't amazing but worse than that was how we had eaten and some people the birthday girls hadn't even been brought there meals and it upset my mum on her special 60th birthday and upset other people how we hadn't had our meals together.

We couldn't order drinks from the bar yet we only had 1 man taking food and drink orders for that many people was ridiculous.

They looked like they couldn't be bothered and that we were a inconvenience for them. When customers did ask for something seemed to be a problem or would take a long time.

If you have a large booking again I strongly suggest you have more staff working and not put it all on one...
