Not a rant or a whining moan about the race course, the racing was awesome! However- The petty officious parking assistant "In Charge" of the disabled car park that ordered me to move my blue badge holding 16 seater minibus because I couldn't park where I've parked the last 2 Years was seriously out of order. He stated that the parking rules had ? changed? That day? And we couldn't park. He also questioned about the badge (3 pensioners 1 with COPD, 1 DOUBLE knee op, 2 diabetic and 1 bowel cancer sufferer) lots of looking stern and shaking his head in mock disbelief, and tutting (very adult) to the point where he had to fetch another black jacketed assistant to make sure we moved! I've spent 21 years in the military, I know not to argue against petty officious people, it isn't worth it. I was more than happy to drop off my passengers as I'm perfectly capable of walking around the race course. But this gentleman was very discourteous and slightly deranged in my personal opinion. Luckily enough the white and blue shirt wearing parking assistant told me what to do and how to get to where I needed to be, a polar opposite of his oppo! I will not say what he called him but it summed up the situation quite succinctly 😀 A sad and pointless non-argument especially as I took photos of a minibus parked in the car park and our minibus would have been on the grass at the rear of the park by the Molson Coors vans which was completely empty! Just to finish I did not drive to the park directly, I was guided by course officials and as far as I am concerned, I parked where directed to by course officials. As I've done twice before. This is the last time we will go to...
Read morePoor quality racing, nice stands and good view of racing from most areas, £20 on the day, Newmarket was £20 with group races on the card, seller and poor novices at Leicester. A few ok bars at ok prices. Don't bet with the bookmakers on the fence/rail near the finish line walk further to the next line of bookies, much better prices 5/4, you'll get 6/4, 9/2 you'll get 5/1. Don't go to the buger van, a small cheeseburger with a cold piece of chees £6.50 and it's vile, a coffee in a paper cup £3.50 (as dear as Costa!!) The chips were £4 and not cooked properly. Three of us went, we didn't enjoy it, no atmosphere, poor racing, no chouce for food beyond the burger van. We won't be going again, we all felt a bit ripped off and disappointed in what was a nice set of stands, good viewing of races but let down by pretty much...
Read moreWent to the firework display at Race course Saturday 4th Nov 2023. Very disappointed, its sold as a family event, but it really isn't. Ticket price includes fair rides, when there wasn't any child friendly rides. Childrens fireworks were at 7.30pm and the main firework display was at 9.30pm, which is far to late for families. Loads of bars/beer tents. I'm pretty sure if your an adult and enjoy drinking alcohol, it would have been a good evening out, but its defiantly not for families with children under the age of 10. We attend the event every year, but this year it was awful. Previously it has catered for children. Previously the price to enter was around £8, this year it was £15, the ticket is sold to include fair rides etc, but whats the point if non of our children could get on the rides. We paid a lot...
