Oadby Chippy Curries & Kebabs — Restaurant in Oadby and Wigston

Order from here regularly and usually really nice although almost always late. Ordered again tonight (all chippy food which is always already cooked) and was so disappointed. Put our order in at 7pm said it would be delayed and would be delivered at 8.03 rang at 8.15 and got told it was on its way, waited a further 30 mins (we live 10 mins away) for them to be rude saying he was outside and put the phone down! Also forgot the drink we ordered. Food was cold and it took nearly 2 hours to be delivered on a Wednesday night! Ordered a lightly battered large cod, two large chips, two pies, three sausages and a curry sauce all for my family. I had to wait as the fish was freshly fried. I noticed that the cod was on the small, thin and long side and commented while the young chap wrapped it up, but he said that I was far from the counter that's why it looked small. When I got home and unwrapped the fish it was definitely small, we had to chuck at least 30% of the chips as they were not eatable. The pies, curry sauce and the sausages were as expected. Just had food from there. Not very impressed. Small lamb or chicken donner being £5. Small chips beubhbeing £2.25. It's very overpriced.

It's like tourist prices.

In regards to food, it's nothing out of the ordinary. The potatoes use the standard Marie Pipers, which is expected. The naga lamb donner is almost £7 all because they heated the lamb donner with naga sauce & some onions. I don't see the justification in the high prices. The naga chicken donner is also £7, and they used excessive food colouring.

Would have given them 4 stars as the food is very standard as what anyone would expect, but can't since the prices are like Central...
